Have restarted the BKC4 lists schedule, opening with the May 1940 campaign.
First up, more of the Belgian army:
BKCBL112: Belgian 6th Infantry Division, 2nd Corps, May 1940
BKCBL113: Belgian 9th Infantry Division, 2nd Corps, May 1940
https://www.wargamevault.com/product/468580/BKCBL112-Belgian-6th-Infantry-Division-2nd-Corps-Belgium-May-1940
The 2nd Corps has a lot of additional artillery which makes it a good defensive option. The rest of the army to follow.
Mark
More releases today:
BKCBL110: Belgian 4th Infantry Division, 1st Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL111: Belgian 7th Infantry Division, 1st Corps, Belgium, May 1940
These two introduce the Belgian secret weapon, the 70mm van Deuron M1915 mortar, a trench mortar that weighs 350kg, breaks down into 60kg "transportable" parts, fires a 19.5kg bomb all of 700m, but it does contain 6kg of explosives, about the same as a 155mm shell, at 4 rounds per minute.
BKCBL114: Belgian 2nd Infantry Division, 3rd Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL115: Belgian 3rd Infantry Division, 3rd Corps, Belgium, May 1940
These two are 6 lists in one, as well as the divisional list they show all the 3rd Corps support units, and the 4th Carabiniers Cycle Cavalry Regiment, 1st Lancers Motorcycle Cavalry Regiment, 1st Frontier Guards Regiment, 2nd Frontier Guards Regiment (this is where the VUDB APC and Carden-Loyd Mk.VI SP guns are to be found)
BKCBL116: Belgian 12th Infantry Division, 4th Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL117: Belgian 15th Infantry Division, 4th Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL118: Belgian 18th Infantry Division, 4th Corps, Belgium, May 1940
You're on a roll :)
A few more today:
BKCBL119: Belgian 13th Infantry Division, 5th Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL120: Belgian 17th Infantry Division, 5th Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL121: Belgian 5th Infantry Division, 6th Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL122: Belgian 17th Infantry Division, 6th Corps, Belgium, May 1940
That was a mistake above, the VUBD armoured personnel carriers are in the Light Infantry Gendarmerie, not in the Frontier Guards, and appear here in the 6th Corps lists.
Another batch:
BKCBL123: Belgian 8th Infantry Division, 7th Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL124: Belgian 2nd Chasseurs Ardennes Division, 7th Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL125: Belgian 1st Infantry Division, Cavalry Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL126: Belgian 14th Infantry Division, Cavalry Corps, Belgium, May 1940
next set:
BKCBL127: Belgian 2nd Cavalry Division, Cavalry Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL128: Belgian Ninitte Brigade Group, Cavalry Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL129: Belgian Coastal Command, Belgium, May 1940
And the last batch of 1940 Belgians, I think:
BKCBL130: Belgian 1st Cavalry Division, Keyaerts Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL131: Belgian 1st Chasseurs Ardennais Division, Keyaerts Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BKCBL132: Belgian Motorised Cavalry Brigade, Cavalry Corps, Belgium, May 1940
BEF next :D
That's a lot of lists =D> =D> =D>

Nice Mark!
And there's more to come:
BKCB149 British 30th Infantry Brigade, Calais, France, 22nd-26th May 1940
BKCB150 British 1st Armoured Division, France, May 1940
BKCB151 British 1st Armoured Division, France, June 1940
It is now clear that the 1st Armoured Division did more fighting, more effectively, during the June battles around the 51st Highland Division on the Brestle River, then their disastrous opening attack on 27th May.
The rear area fitters worked magnificently to bring damaged tanks back into action on a daily basis, on a par with the Afrika Korps in the desert and the Allies in Normandy in 1944, such that tank strengths varied wildly on a daily basis. Several examples are shown.
The fighting the British did after Dunkirk is largely forgotten and under-reported, and worthy of more publicity and study.
Wondered when that bit would be done, it's the period I've gamed the most previously (15mm 1/RTR in Flames of War days, gotta love a British cruiser tank early war!)
The final batch for the BEF:
BKCB152 British 1st Army Tank Brigade, France, May 1940
BKCB153 British Arkforce, 51st Highland Division, Le Havre, France, 9th-13th June 1940
BKCB154 British Beauman Division, France, May 1940
BKCB155 British Beauman Division, France, June 1940
BKCB156 British Frankforce, Arras, France, 21st May 1940
BKCB157 British Petreforce, Arras, France, 18th-25th May 1940
Quote from: Duke Speedy of Leighton on 16 February 2024, 01:10:13 PMWondered when that bit would be done, it's the period I've gamed the most previously (15mm 1/RTR in Flames of War days, gotta love a British cruiser tank early war!)
Prefer the Matildas myself, but yes, the mediocracy of British cruisers shines when all the enemy has got is Panzer IIs or CV3/35 and M11/39 :)
Quote from: sultanbev on 17 February 2024, 09:44:02 AMBKCB156 British Frankforce, Arras, France, 21st May 1940
BKCB157 British Petreforce, Arras,
Arras mate, didn't even see the injuns!
Nobby... coat
Moving further north for now in the Europe May 1940 collection:
BKCB158 British Alabasterforce, Iceland, May 1940 (Sturges Force RM, 147th Infantry Brigade)
BKCB159 British Mauriceforce, Namsos, Norway, 17th April-3rd May 1940
(146th Infantry Brigade, sneak peak at the French with the 5th Alpine Chasseurs Brigade)
BKCB160 British Sickleforce, Aandalsnes, Norway, 17th April-2nd May 1940
(148th Infantry Brigade, Primrose Force RM, 15th Infantry Brigade)
My Grandpa (after Battle Of Britain when he refused to fly single seaters again, and then training others in Tiger Moths) was sent to Iceland as part of the RAF, he proudly wore his Icelandic Air force Association tie.
His description was spending three years on a glacier, waiting for American bombers to land, giving their pilot a new nap to the Faroes, waiting for the plane to refuel, waving them off and going back into the warmth of his hut.
Never wanted to see snow again, then moved to Canada, and then moved back in time for the last great freeze of the Thames at Oxford!
The last batch of May 1940ish British BKC IV lists:
BKCB161 British Scissorsforce, Mosjoen, Mo, Bodo, Norway, May 1940
BKCB162 British Avonforce, planned aid to Finland, March-April 1940
BKCB163 British Rupertforce, planned invasion of Norway, April-May 1940
BKCB164 British Bootforce, planned assault on Trondheim, Norway, 16th April 1940
BKCB165 British Northwest Expeditionary Force, Narvik, Norway, 13th May-10th June 1940
Bit of a curveball next, might not be stuff people are interested in but am going to do them anyway, working through Europe in alphabetical order :)
Ohh those are fun
First one of March 2024:
BKCAL166 Albanian Army, Italian controlled Albania, May 1939-September 1940
Next up the complete Bulgarian army of 1940: :D

BKCBN174 Bulgarian 3rd Infantry Division, 3rd Army, eastern Bulgaria, May 1940

BKCBN176 Bulgarian 5th Infantry Division, 4th Army, northern Bulgaria, May 1940
BKCBN177 Bulgarian 6th Infantry Division, 4th Army, northern Bulgaria, May 1940
BKCBN178 Bulgarian 1st Fast Cavalry Division, Bulgaria, May 1940
BKCBN179 Bulgarian Border Guard Brigades, Bulgaria, 1939-1940
Although stating May 1940 these can be used for much of 1940, and most have notes detailing the changes for a 1939 army.
Just one more for today:
BKCBC180 Canadian 1st Infantry Brigade Group, France, 12th-17th June 1940
https://www.wargamevault.com/product/474343/BKCBC180-Canadian-1st-Infantry-Brigade-Group-France-12th17th-June-1940
Thanks, I hadn't realised the Canadians made it to France in 1940
Quote from: paulr on 17 March 2024, 08:30:33 AMThanks, I hadn't realised the Canadians made it to France in 1940
The battle of France does turn up surprises like that, there is a Czech formation next:
BKCCZ181: Czechoslovakian 1st Infantry Division, France, May-June 1940
I think the campaign in June 1940 after Dunkirk deserves a lot more attention from history writers than is currently given, I haven't yet found if the Canadians actually saw any combat. This Czech division certainly did.
Next up the Slovaks during this time:
BKCCZ182 Slovakian 1st Infantry Division, Slovakia, May-October 1940
BKCCZ183 Slovakian 2nd Infantry Division, Slovakia, May-October 1940
BKCCZ184 Slovakian 3rd Infantry Division, Slovakia, May-October 1940
Includes their Armoured Regiment as corps support options.
First of the Danish lists

The other Danish list

and the first of many Dutch lists:
BKCD187 Dutch 1st Infantry Division, 1st Light Corps, Holland, May 1940
BKCD188 Dutch Light Division, 3rd Corps, Holland, May 1940
A large batch of Dutch lists next:
BKCD189 Dutch 2nd Infantry Division, 2nd Corps, Holland, May 1940
BKCD190 Dutch 3rd Infantry Division, 1st Light Corps, Holland, May 1940
BKCD191 Dutch 4th Infantry Division, 2nd Corps, Holland, May 1940

BKCD194 Dutch 7th Infantry Division, 4th Corps, Holland, May 1940
BKCD195 Dutch 8th Infantry Division, 4th Corps, Holland, May 1940
The Peel Division was an ad-hoc force created to defend river lines. It is split into 5 sector regiments, each of one list, to keep the data manageable. This division used the quite rare 20mm Solothurn anti-tank rifles, in separate anti-tank platoons rather than upgrades to existing platoons.
BKCD196 Dutch Peel Division (1), Shaijk Sector Regiment, Holland, May 1940
BKCD197 Dutch Peel Division (2), Erp Sector Regiment, Holland, May 1940
BKCD198 Dutch Peel Division (3), Bakel Sector Regiment, Holland, May 1940
BKCD199 Dutch Peel Division (4), Asten Sector Regiment, Holland, May 1940
BKCD200 Dutch Peel Division (5), Weert Sector Regiment, Holland, May 1940
And that, ladies & gentlemen and others, brings us to 200 BKC lists so far :D
