Merry Christmas all,

I know this is probably going to be relative to whichever ruleset is being used, but how many guns+crews do you use to represent a battery ?

Currently 3 for me, but considering rebasing to 2 before I get too far along

Wow! Three.  :-\

I have 2 guns, plus limbers, cassions etc.

(I've since added some more horses to the limbers.)

I use a ratio of 1:2 for guns and tranport.  It depends on the size of the battery in the OB I'm using though.  A six gun battery would have three guns and limbers and three caissons and limbers.  Each model gun has four crew figures.

24 figures to a battalion, 1 gun to a battery, cavalry varies by type.

I use 2 but put them on separate bases

I'm in 6mm.

My Russian battalions have 120 figures (approximate 1:4 ratio, assuming they're somewhat below paper strength).

I find that three guns to a battery looks sufficiently bulky for a Russian battery, and offers a credible frontage.

The Little Wooden Men have artillery based separately,  but I put 3 to a base for Blucher batteries, where they represent about 24 guns.

Where they are attached to infantry I use 1 on the base.

One to represent typically 24-36 guns.

Yes, I have 3 to a battery for Russians.

I use 2 guns per tube and 4 crew per model gun. Usually 2 limbers from the pool are assigned to each battery when needed.

Interesting.  So are your battalions based three deep and forty wide?  What size base is that and what rules do you use?
