Our new website is now live, complete with a full IOSS system for our European customers! The DNS may take upto 24 hours to propagate around the world but hopefully it'll be available soon for most of you, so head over and take a look: https://www.pendraken.co.uk/
Has the site changed much?
Largely the website will look the same, other than a few font and layout changes. You'll still find the same products in the same places and the checkout process will still take you to PayPal for your payments. Your Loyalty Points are intact and you can place orders for Collection as normal.
Do you have IOSS now?
YES, the big news is that we now have IOSS available! This means that all of our EU customers can place their orders and pay the relevant VAT at the point of purchase, avoiding all of those annoying handling fees and charges when the package arrives. The Checkout will automatically calculate the correct VAT rate once you've chosen your destination country (or immediately if you're logged into your account).
Please note though, that IOSS can only be used on orders upto 150 Euros (around £135) so if your order is over this amount, no VAT will be charged and you will have to pay the VAT/fees when the package arrives. We have no control over this unfortnuately, that's just the way the IOSS system works.
What about our details?
All of your main account details have been transferred over to the new website, so you will only need to choose a new password and check that your address is correct. If you have purchased from us previously then you should have received a notification email with a link to set your password. If not, you should be prompted to do this when you next login.
Unfortunately we were not able to bring over your old orders so those will not be in your account. We have access to them here though, so just get in touch if you'd like to get them. We also couldn't bring over any secondary addresses from your accounts, so you will need to add these as/when they are needed.
What about existing orders in the old site?
Any orders still in the system from the old website will be processed as normal and you should receive the usual notification email when they are shipped out (as long as the systems do their job!) If you've not heard from us, just get in touch and we can confirm when your order was posted.
What else is new then?
There are several new features on the new website so:
- We now have some filters applied to most categories, allowing you to sort by Type (infantry, cavalry, command) or Nation, Faction, etc. This is especially useful in some of the larger categories like WWII or the Spanish Civil War. We need to say a massive thank you to FSN, Ian Shaw and John Cook for all of their time helping us assemble some of the attribute data. We will continue to add further filters over the coming months, so get in touch if there's a section you'd like to help with!
- The Latest News section has been updated a little to give better organisation and make it easier to find news articles.
- The site is generally a lot faster and the back of house is much better than the old house. There's also an API option available which we'll be using to streamline stock control in our shop.
I had a Gift Card on the old site?
These will get transferred over to the new website on Wed/Thurs. Unfortunately we couldn't transfer them straight over so we'll be creating them all manually one at a time. You should receive an email when your Gift Card has been activated but please let us know if you've not received it and we'll get that sorted.
Anything else?
YES! The new Blitzkrieg Commander Army Builder is now live too! It's available through the header bar of the new website or directly here: https://armybuilder.pendraken.co.uk/ The builder has all of the current BKC lists available for you to play around with and create your own armies. Completed lists can be saved, printed or sent to friends. We'll be adding the Cold War lists later this year as well, before anyone asks!
The new Builder is the same subscription system as the old one and is priced at £10 per year. If there's any queries or additional features you'd like to see, just let us know!
And that's it I think! Let us know what you think of the new site and give me a shout if you spot anything that looks squiffy!
:-bd =D> :-bd =D> :-bd
Great stuff - looks good, the photos on the period pages look bigger (which is good) and so do some of the item photos. The new filter thing works well - really quick to display the choices - and gives a different way of looking at the ranges, which is handy.
I think for some ranges adding options like Early War, Airborne, Desert, Winter, etc would be useful.
Doesn't look to work right on my phone :-\
Can't see how to find any product other than the new stuff.
Is it the catalogue button? That doesn't work...
The sign-in link on the email seems to be using the IP rather than the URL, which then throws up certificate errors when trying to access it.
However, if you go to the site > sign in > forgot my password > reset password, that seems to work okay.

Same for me - looks like the catalogue button isn't working on the mobile menu, I assume it's intended to expand out to show the options?
The others work okay because they're navigating to new pages, but catalogue seems to be missing its sub menu.
I got Phising warnings when I logged in. I have told the system to override it, as I THINK I can tryst this website. :)
It didn't like my password! How long should I wait for my password before panic sets in? ;D
Ooops forgot to check my spam. Now OK.
ASked me to re-register told me I was already registered.
I seem to remember you've answered this somewhere - sorry if so -
Did the unused accumulated credit from purchases disappear with the switchover?
Quote from: fred. on 01 November 2023, 07:50:46 AMI think for some ranges adding options like Early War, Airborne, Desert, Winter, etc would be useful.
That's already planned but the Attribute setting only allows for one per attribute (so only Early War, only Desert, etc). There's a workaround but it's a bit more involved and I wasn't able to get it done in time for launch.

This was an annoying setting that needed tweaking, should be all fixed now.

Yes, not quite ideal on a new website launch! It was due to the site not having fully propagated when those emails were sent, so it had the IP address attached. The link was completely safe but I know it's spooked a lot of the browsers. I'm about to send an update email to everyone with a fresh link.

It did yes, that would have been in your Loyalty Points, which should be intact and showing in your account as normal. Let me know if they don't appear and I'll get it checked.
Thanks Leon! Found them now. :D
Yep, those issues all look resolved. Great work on this, Leon!
Transfer to new site went relatively smoothly.
E-mail link blocked, but no problem accessing directly from the new website.
Looking good here in the backwoods, Leon. :-bd :-bd :-bd
I got the email saying the site was live in the middle of the night but I haven't been able to get the catalogue to load on mobile as others mentioned. Late afternoon/early evening now and it still won't work. The address bar adds "/#0" but doesn't do anything. Is this a "user error" or has the site not settled in yet?
Never mind! Apparently making a forum post got things working for me!
Quote from: slugbalancer on 01 November 2023, 09:54:34 AMOoops forgot to check my spam. Now OK.
Neither did I and there are four emails in my junk box inviting me to reset my password. Never thought to look. No idea why it should do this when other Pendraken stuff goes to my inbox no-problem.
I am on an logged in.
I'm using Chrome and the tab at the top of the page doesn't show the Pendraken logo
Looking good though. :)
Also on chrome - logo is there for me.
Logo there for me and on Chrome too.
New password done, signed in and all present and correct.
I think I managed to find the logo option last night, so hopefully that works for everyone now.
For the BKIV Army builder do I use the same password as I have for the website or do I need to register seperately?
Reference Army builder - i've tried registering and keep getting a EL2 error code, have also tried my Pendraken website log on and get an EL4.......
New website looks fab though :D
I take it back.... I'm now in using my pendraken website log on.... it may have been my fat fingers and dodgy typing
I used my site id and password, but I have been registered on it for a while - breaking it for Leon. Seems good now...
No issues .. so far. Job well done :-\
Quote from: Leon on 02 November 2023, 01:37:16 PMI think I managed to find the logo option last night, so hopefully that works for everyone now.
Looks good to me. :)
Excellent! I've spent tonight updating a load of the meta data as well so the Share options on the product pages should give better info now.
A bit of a test update tonight, I've tried the workaround for adding Conflict data to our Modern Vehicles section so if anyone fancies having a look to see if it's working properly: https://www.pendraken.co.uk/10mm-modern-vehicles We can always tweak which things appear in which categories, it's more to make sure that the feature is working for everyone. If this does the job then I can use the same method for WWII theatres as well.
Conflict feature certainly looks to be working as I'd expect for me, note I'm not logged in :)
Using all three; Conflict, Nation, Type in combination works as well :)
I note you have Afghanistan & Soviet-Afghan as separate conflicts :-\
Filtering by conflict and nationality seems to work fine. It did make me notice that the Vietnam vehicles are not in the Modern vehicles category (the absence of the PT-76 triggered my thought) - not sure if this is intentional or not.

I've fixed that one now. I think our data volunteer for those was probably meaning the Soviet-Afghan War and then the Afghan nation as a separate entity through into the 1990s-2000s, but we'll drop the latter one for now. I think Afghanistan might still have T-55s in service today!

The MDV codes were our 'guinea pig' range to make sure that the attributes were working OK. Now that we know that they do the trick I can start expanding them into the other ranges. WWII will probably be next as one of our volunteers has already done the leg work on those for us and I should be able to format/upload the data quite easily.

Pakistan does

I would guess the current Afghan gov't still has a few
To update on the site, I updated the WWII section on Wed night so those have got Theatre filters in place now. I've not bothered adding them to ranges that are only relevant to one threatre of the war, so the French, Hungarians, Polish, Japanese, etc.

Excellent, I was quite chuffed with myself for managing to follow the instructions for a Facebook widget! It does seem to go squiffy on some browsers though, so it works fine in Chrome but I get a spinning wheel in Firefox. It'd be interesting to hear who can see it and who can't?
I'll check that tomorrow...

Works OK for me on Firefox, after I make everything trusted.
In other news, I'm getting emails from the Royal Mail, telling me that my Pendraken order is on the way.
Because that's a major problem for you, not enough toy soldiers.
Indeed. I don't have them all.

Yet.

That's good as well, we've negotiated a new rate with Royal Mail to get tracking on all of our packages, and then the new website sends tracking numbers properly too, which the previous one didn't do.

Works for me on Edge - only drawback is it takes me to some Faceache thingy ;)
Smells like success, now we wait for the mailman!

Excellent, that's good to hear. Having the new process is great but it's probably one of those things where we won't get much feedback if it works properly!
Can't say that my browsing experience has been improved, or otherwise, since the changes, though I haven't ordered anything recently. Searching for the new Confederation figures, which didn't seem to be listed, for the Peninsular War range, 'Confederation' produced a lot of Confederate ACW hits, 'Confederation of the Rhine' and 'Confederation Peninsular War' produced nothing. I had to enter 'Napoleonic Confederation' to find them under the 1809 range with the recommendation that those in French style uniforms could be sourced from the 1809 range. Had I not persisted I might have just given up. Anyway, they are in typical Peninsular War dress and in the wrong place really.

Well i guess 'no news is good news' is in order in that case, if nobody is whining, it must be working :D

The Confederation figures were originally planned for the 1809 'Not Kickstarter' and then just tacked onto the Peninsular one as an extra perk, so that's why they're in that section.
Are you sure about that? I still have my notes and illustrations for the generic Confederation types for the Peninsular Range, that correspond to the figures. You may remember there was complaint that they weren't really dressed appropriately for the 1809 Danube campaign - no shako ornaments. Still, it's your ball and your game.
There might have been some crossed-wires at my end then as I thought we were doing those as an addition to the original 1809 Confed expansion!
