Hi all,
and Nobby (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MyFriendsAndZoidberg) :D
As mentioned elsewhere I have a load of (already painted) 6mm. I'm going to base for Blucher. I can find lists of facing colours - will these (generally) be the same as the standard? (And yes, I know about the 50th.)
Cheers
Try to find a copy of "Armies of the Napolionic Eara" by Von Pivka - has a full list of facinges ect...
I have a list of facings, I don't really want to spend money on just the flags
In answer to your original question - broadly yes. Yellow flags with yellow facings. Green flags for green facings. The exception would be red or white faced regiments which had the St George's cross and the Guard were crimson.

(I was going to put in a pithy and witty put down in response to your original comment, but frankly couldn't think of one.)
There are a few notable exceptions: KSLI has brick red facings and a st George flag.
The osprey book has the full listing for British

Didn't I say that? :P
Maybe he doesn't listen to you...
Who does? I am truly a maltreated Cassandra.
IIRC regiments with black facings had black flags with red crosses. Been a very long time since I've looked at this subject however.
They did. :D

You know sometimes you look at things and your mind interprets what it sees, rather than actually reading it properly?
Saw that flag and thought it said "EVIL REGT". Probably because of the amount of black on view.
The 50th had the St George Cross with a white border, then the black field.

Infamy, infamy, they've all got it...
The 1768 Royal Warrant specifies that regiments with white and red facings should carry Second (Regimental) colours with a red St George's cross on white field and that those regiments with black facings should carry Second colours with a red St George's cross on a black field.
However, there is a footnote on page 6 in the Osprey on Napoleonic flags that suggests that this was not followed and that the black-faced regiments also carried Second colours with a red St George's cross on white field the same as the others.
