Hey all, I'm Will (as you can guess by the user name).
I've gotten into wargaming as a grown up with grown up money in the past few years after not playing since dabbling with Warhammer as a teenager. Still dabbled a bit, but realized that not only am I not interested in the whole competitive meta nonsense of the GW scene, but my heart really lies with real world history.
I'm particularly interested in the late sixteenth century, with a focus on the Dutch Revolt.
Fighting the big battles seems appealing (attempts at historical events or hypothetical matchups of plausible armies are both great to me), so I started a project in 6mm a few years back.
Quickly found out that 6mm wasn't for me, and the idea sat on the shelf until earlier this year.
Have made the jump to 10mm with some old GW Warmaster figures and a big purchase from Leon.
What can I say? I'm really enjoying the 10mm scale!
I'll be posting updates to a project log here: 10mm Pike and Shot Armies of the Late 1500s (https://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,22571.0.html), but you can also check out my blog and social media:

This pike and shot project will be documented over on my history-focused Instagram and Facebook pages, Rebels or Beggars:

However, I also update a more general purpose gaming Instagram, as well:

Looking forward to chatting with you guys!

There is rejoicing in Heaven at those words.
Welcome to a forum that is by turns warm, welcoming, wise, witty and ... weird! :)
I was very impressed by the units you posted pictures of.
Been a long time since I dabbled in the pike and shot era, first in 15mm and then in 6mm. One of the many projects I now flit between is doing ECW/ WotTK in 2mm using For King & Parliament.
Once more, welcome to the forum!
Welcome! Your entry into the hobby sounds a little like mine, let's hope you get many fruitful years of enjoyment in the future from it
Hi - have fun
Hello and welcome Will
Will
Welcome, don't worry 'dabbling with Warhammer' doesn't make you a bad person, well not too bad anyway.
Appreciate the welcome, guys!

Welcome Will :-h
Hi Will
Welcome, and good to see the P&S being represented. Look forward to your posts.
Greetings Will. I've just joined the fraternity of Pike and Shotters as well, though 1600s rather than 1500s.
I enjoyed your posts. My slower efforts can be found here:
