The Parthians can be beaten, it appears. Just not by Romans. Lee's been winning with the Parthians for a while, but today the Persians reminded her that other people could ride and shoot.
Elephants are frustrating. They should make short work of anything the Parthians have, but they never get there in time.
Mixed MM and Pendraken, with a handful of Irregular Miniatures among the Arab auxiliaries on both sides. The Nellies are conversions from Pendraken Indians, and the Parthians themselves all from appropriate Sarmatians.
Lee will doubtless find a way to thump the Persians before long. We've livened the game up by imposing a 5-minute limit of each side's planning and moves. This reduces the chess-playing poasibilities, which is a great improvement.

So they are Sassanids?
Yes, most of the pix show the Persians. They're more colourful subjects.
You mean youse a winnin ??
She just feels sorry for me.
When I started wargaming in the late seventies Sassanids were all the rage.
They're still at least a bit tetchy.
