Hi all,
I am planning to modify a couple of 1:76 vehicles (Cromwell, Churchill) to mount the 95mm close support howitzer. Does anyone have accurate measurements (apart from calibre!) of the real weapon? I can get a reasonable estimate by printing & measuring from various drawings, plans etc online but it would be nice to have the actual numbers to scale down appropriately.
Cheers!
Pete
You could try the PSC Churchill - gives 3 weapon options - 6pdr, 75mm and 95mm
Thanks for the reply - yes, PSC do some nice stuff! But this is a bit of a "nostalgia" project for me to build up a bunch of classic Airfix vehicles I couldn't afford when I was 12 :)
Cheers,
Pete
Ellis & Chamberlain pg.205 has the following for the 95mm Tank Howitzer Ordnance Quick Firing Mk.1
length of tube: 80.4"
overall length: 85.52"

Thanks for the info, that will be useful!
Icing on the cake would be external diameters of barrel & counterweight so I can buy the right styrene rod size... :)
Cheers,
Pete
PSC do do 1/72 scale Churchills with 3 barrels per tank
PM sent.
