Which Pendraken figures work best?

British Falklands probably best. You could also look at Korean stuff for 2nd line

For that period you will need figures with the Brodie-type steel helmet.

(https://oildale.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/22040751/India-Pakistan-War-1965-resize-2.jpg) Late war British

(https://media.gettyimages.com/id/613475330/photo/jawans-prepare-to-give-covering-fire-to-the-advancing-troops-in-the-lahore-sector-during-the.jpg?s=612x612&w=gi&k=20&c=Hw2fjvEf6Bq97KQIk2YVxrEgrEDafvJ3M2qDr-uhsNY=) Definitely late war British

(https://img.theweek.in/content/dam/week/news/india/images/2020/9/19/war.jpg) Oh-oh! That's an FN variant ... which is very distinctive. However, the Ishapore 2 (Lee-Enfield) was also in use.

Hmmm. Well on balance I'd go for the late War British. Possibly Korean War in tropical kit (though there's no Sten.)

Rumour Control. If there was demand a few - a happy few- dedicated Indian and Pakistan figures might "appear". And yes, a few useful proxy in Korean ranges. It is a matter of regret that I pointed Phil towards design of early war Brits in historically accurate bush hats. If we had gone for berets would they have sold better?

Leon has also looked at Bush War type figures. Again, these ambitions would be driven by demand. ie More than the whims of one wargamer.

Interesting chat with Martin (Peter Pig), the Dark Lord of 15mm. He sees the strenght of the white metal against the plastics in producing the fringe figures that sell "enough"in terms of margin, and the fact that boxes of plastic may only have one mortar. In the metal we can sell as many as you need in relatively cheap packets.

Well, I'm after 1956 Brits in WW2 helmets and kit but with SLR and 3.5" bazooka, which would also do for those Indians, so thats a +1 vote.

Well, if Dhofar counts as a bush war then I'd be interested.  It's the only post 1940 project I've ever considered but finding suitable 'Adoo' in mixed military/Jebali-style dress has proved elusive.  Sultan's Armed Forces in OGs with shemaghs, SAS, some Jordanian SF and Iranians for which US types will probably work.
