Hello there, I am from Germany and after a hiatus of about 18 years or so I got back in touch with my inner painter and wargamer. I played a couple of GW systems as a kid/teenager, including Warmaster. I spent some years abroad where I couldn't get actively back into the hobby but did some reading on the subject. Ultimately the lockdown prompted me to get a propper set-up again. Since then I am busy builidng and painting again; mostly for Warhammer 5th edition (i.e. "Middlehammer"). However, I wanted to engage in historical wargaming and with another scale, so I am thinking about starting a little side-project for Warmaster Ancients in 10mm.
Greetings and welcome.

Welcome on board :) !
Welcome to the Forum!
What sort of ancients are you considering?
Welcome and as a matter of interest where are you based in Germany?
Cheers Paul
Hello and welcome.
Wotcha
Cheers!
@fsn, I am thinking about Saxons and Vikings, inspired by the "Battle of Maldon" poem. I hope I can open an thread in the painting forum, once I start priming my minis.
@Paul, Frankfurt (Main) 8)
Ah! Good show!
Might I recommend ELM46 and ELM47 - monks and nuns? Very useful as camp followers or objectives or whatever.
I have it in mind to do a Romano-Briton vs Saxon game as in the Battle of Badon.
Welcome P.W. :-h

Welcome to the Forum. You are now officially part of the Weird and Wonderful Pendraken Forum.
You may choose the adjective that applies to you however if you choose " wonderful " every one of the forum will think either:-
A You're fibbing
B You're wierd

Thanks for the advise, they look great. I started with AS3 and NO5.

I learned a new word. I am most definately fibbing!
The army packs are good value
I thought so too. And they seem to be available from a vendor here in Germany too. But I'll start small (well d'uh) and see if the scale fits me.
Hi, PW! I'm in a similar situation to you; painted loads of Warhammer when I was much younger (but never really played much apart from a handful of tester games in-store), then fell out of the hobby and got back into it during lockdown. The smaller scales have a real nostalgic feel to me and I've picked up some Arthurian minis from Pendraken to try a small WM:A force of my own; their Picts are also tempting me - oh, my poor wallet! Do you think you might try Warmaster Fantasy using their minis too?
Ah! That was me 10 years ago. "Just some ACW as a trial ... oh and some WWII, late WWII 1944 ... but there's those cute little early war stuff so 1940 ... but I'm bored of vehicles and drab colours so some nice colourful medievals would be nice ..."
There is no escape.

Haha quite so! As if the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century projects weren't enough, there's an entire blasted (read: 'wonderful') fantasy range that I have yet to sink my teeth into properly!

Yes, the fantasy range is going to be added to and there's a whole new lot of SF coming too.
