We've been waiting for the stock of these to arrive in the UK so we're very pleased to announce that we're now stocking the Vallejo Xpress range of paints! Similar to the GW Contrast or Army Paint Speedpaints, these are designed to provide a quick method for painting figures. From the Vallejo website:
When we need to paint multiple figures in a fast way, Xpress Color is the ideal choice, these matt colors are specifically formulated to paint miniatures in a fast and easy way.
The main characteristics are its excellent capillarity that allows the color to flow easily over the miniature surface, settling on all the reliefs and more intensely in the crevices of the figure, creating a contrast effect with a single layer of paint.
It's recommended to apply Xpress Color on a white or grey primed or painted surface. The color will create light areas on the reliefs, saturated mid-tones and intense shadows in the crevices of the figure.
Like all our products, they are very versatile and can be applied over any color in the range to create soft shading and contouring effects, to create glazes or filters and to blend transitions between color tones.
Xpress Color can be mixed together, or can be diluted with Xpress Medium to modify or create new shades.
There's a pdf file with the colour swatches available here: https://www.vallejoacrylics.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Colores-GC-2022.pdf
The delivery should be with us in the next couple of days so all orders will be posted out as soon as the stock arrives.

Any idea of the drying times on these? I have used the GW Contrast a lot recently, I've also got a starter set of Army Painter speedpaints but I've been put off by the need to leave each coat for a couple of days before it stops reactivating in contact with other paints.
Haven't tried these particular paints but generally really like Vallejo stuff. Lucky both of my freindly local gaming stores stock it as can't get paint through the mail here.
It was officially 28 Degrees C here today at 3pm, but sure it was hotter. I base coated a regiment of 6mm armour first thing today when it was cooler from a Tamiya dark green rattle can, but still didn't exactly take long to dry! :)
Good stuff. I'm a fan of GW's contrast paints - but will be keen to give these a try as most of my other paints are Vallejo.
Sunjester - I've had no problems with drying time on Contrast Paints - usually minutes is sufficient.

Sunjester was referring to the Army painter speed paints concerning the drying time. Both he and I have no issues with the GW contrast paints.

Good, wasn't quite sure from the original phrasing.

An example dear to every EFL teacher:
Time to go and eat Granny (punctuate according to dietary preferences and views on human rights)
Like a good bit of Long Pig !
So you know elsewhere when I said I had 154 "spare" paints?
Do you honestly think this is helping? :(
Here's what will happen.
- I will buy a couple (>12) of these.
- I will try then out on, say, some Napoleonic Ottoman figures
- I like the effect so paint the 900+ Ottoman figures in these paints.
- I take them out for the first gallop against the Poles.
- I see that the styles used on the Polish and Ottoman troops are a bit different, and that jars somewhat.
- I repurchase the Polish army to paint in the "new" style
- Repeat for Bavarians, Brunswickers, Württembergers, Austrian, Russian, Prussian and British armies
- 10 years from now find 322 "spare" paints - Revell, Humbrol, Tamiya ... and Vallejo.
Then, Leon releases a new paint range.

Good that they listened to their customers, but bugger all use for those of us stick with a starter set from the original line!

And even less to those of us that splashed out on the wider range!
Still it looks like I have till April to save up for megaset2.0 or go Vallejo and put the originals with my now abandoned piles of humbrol enamels. :)
I bought one of these, liked it very much - want to buy more - nearly all sold out :(
Any idea when you may restock?

Hopefully soon! We'd got a decent starting stock in but I've been surprised at how quickly they flew out, the paint stand got completely decimated at York and was empty by the end of the show. I've only managed to get 4 of the colours restocked since the show and now our supplier is waiting for a delivery themselves, so we're stuck waiting on that.
As soon as anything arrives, we'll get the website updated straightaway.
Thanks! :)
