Title: 1809-1813 Polish
Post by: Leon026 on 25 October 2022, 05:54:18 AM
Aaaah, back after several years of hiatus with painting naps, but here we go once more, this time with the Polish. My custom movement trays that I ordered should be arriving soon, so they'll go perfectly with this :D

I admit I usually post on either my instagram or on various napoleonic facebook groups, but I should also post here....

The astutely eagle-eyed will notice quite a number of headswaps....

Very nice indeed.  Just been painting Poles for my Talavera project and I found them hard work compared with the French and British.  I think you have the Wurttemberg Chevaulegers mixed up.  I'm fairly sure that "Wurttemburg 2nd Chevauleger regiment"(Leibchevaulegers-Regiment in 1806 and Leibchevaulegers-Regiment Nr 2 in 1811) had ponceau red standards.  Your picture of the regiment with a yellow standard seems to be of Chevaulgers-Regiment Herzog Heinrich (Chevaulegers-Regiment Nr 1 in 1811).  To be fair the names of Wurttemberg regiments, infantry and cavalry, is a real minefield as they changed several times, as did the patterns of colours and standards.  The chevaulegers even changed to a vexillum standards in 1811.
