I would love to have visited this museum (especially over the last year to see Troiani's stuff in the flesh) but unfortunately, when I was in Philadelphia in 2016, it was still under construction. So frustrating because the museum was only a few steps across the road from our hotel!
Mind you, I can't complain too much because I got to visit the Brandywine battlefield, Valley Forge, Germantown (if you can count that battle given that the whole area is now urbanized), Independence Hall, see the Liberty Bell and the stairs Rocky ran up! :P
Troiani's paintings are a great resource for a number of periods, including AWI and ACW. More here:- :)
Don Troiani (https://www.dontroiani.com/gallery.shtml)
I've just bought his book 'Liberty: Don Troiani's Paintings of the Revolutionary War' from Amazon.
It looks as though it's full of uniform details for wargaming the period.
His paintings look to be very well researched and were very useful for my AWI project
The book I ordered from Amazon arrived.
It's the guidebook for the Philadelphia exhibition, so rather than a dedicated uniforms book, you get more of a description of the highlights of the war.
