New to the game and only played once so far.
Can I ask how many times can a unit opportunity fire? We had a case of a platoon of tanks firing at another and every time an order was passed they fired and the targets fired back (if able) is this right?
And is opportunity fire "free" no order roll other than the -1 next time.
Thanks
Can only fire Oppertunity Fire once per move. It does not have to be at the element which triggers it.
The only penalty is the -1 on any command roll when ordering a unit that has Opportunity fired in the previous turn. But as Ian states, you can only fire Opportunity fire once per unit per turn. However, your units can target the same enemy unit more than once, from more than one of your own units (see example below)
Blue tank moves (it is Blue's turn)
Red 1 fires one tank at Blue's tank in Opportunity fire
If Blue is not suppressed, it attempts to fire back at Red 1,
If the shoot order for Blue is passed, Red 2 can now use opportunity fire to hit Blue.
Of course you could fire Red 1 & Red 2 at Blue in Blues first move, but that might be over-kill, as all you might want to do is suppress as many of Blues tanks as possible.
Hope that makes sense?
Mark
