Title: 19th century European Explorers
Post by: MSawyer on 30 August 2022, 02:21:38 AM
Been reading the rule set "The Men Who Would Be Kings" and in it they mention as a "Field Force" unit of European explorers to Africa. Any suggestions as to what figures would be suitable in 10mm for this unit? :-\

If 10mm... just off top of head, Indian Mutiny, C19 Colonial, Zulu War, Various Animals. Some might benefit from some light conversion or just paint job to 'civvies'. Could get expensive if you only want a couple of 1 pose... but many possible figs! Just browse!

Check some of the civilian ranges, ditto the ACW stuff.

Remember that the kind Mr Leon will do custom orders for still very reasonable prices https://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,21052.0.html (https://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,21052.0.html)

My most custom ordered unit is my WWI German Kavallerie-Eskadron Asienkorps, 6 figures from 3 different packs, not two from each pack :-[

Spanish Civil War. You want a proxy for any period, from anywhere in the world, the Spanish Civil War range has something.

Hyperbole, but only just.

Indian Mutiny: Maybe something from Civilians, Infantry in campaign dress or Naval Brigade.

Sudan: More different Naval Brigade.

Boer War: The Boer infantry are worth a look.
