Post by: T13A on 06 August 2022, 08:20:15 PM
Hi

Just walked the route of "Pickett's Charge" with my son. Nice. It was hot.  :)
Sharpesburg tomorrow then on Monday on to Fredericksburg.
Suspect I might be doing some ACW when I get back home. :-\

Cheers Paul

I walked it a few years ago, on a much cooler autumn afternoon.  I remember the ground as almost like a long glacis.  It is a sobering experience and makes you wonder how any of them made it to the Union lines at all

Sounds like a great trip you have planned there. We walked the ECW Landsdown hill battle filed yesterday as part of our walk. The final part of the battle was across a very flat and open field and you can see why the Royalists were reluctant to cross it.
