Title: Claymore 2022
Post by: Ithoriel on 06 August 2022, 03:33:11 PM
Just back from Claymore with a raft of photos of the games, a selection of random purchases, some money from the two things I sold at the Bring & Buy and a sensation of complete exhaustion. Oh dear, I am getting old. :)

Sold the Horizon: Zero Dawn Kickstarter exclusive set for fifty quid and three dozen Imperial Fists space marines for thirty-five. The former a duplicate bought by mistake and the latter had not seen the table in 14 years. Paid the club their cut and was very happy.

Bought a pack of river bits from Coritani for forty quid, three spray paints at a tenner each, four paint pots at a couple of quid apiece, two 10mm 3D printed Churchills for a quid, a pack of Warbases 2mm warbands for three pound twenty, some 2mm tufts for two-fifty and a pack of Supreme Littleness casualty figures for a quid. Not quite break even but close enough.

The show seemed busy enough and the traders I spoke to seemed happy with the business they'd done.

Caught up with a large number of people I hadn't seen for a while, which was great.

For some reason Tiny Wargames weren't able to make it after all. Shame. Though their mats were being sold by Mighty Minis UK.

I'll upload the pictures to Imageshack shortly and then link to that here.

Wherever possible I've included a shot of the blurb about who's putting the game on and what the game is. Not every table had such a thing.

Thanks for posting this...especially with explanations!

I always find it interesting to see what games are put on at the big overseas shows, never having got to one myself yet.

Some very diverse game subjects there.....Currently working towards our call to arms game in November - lots of 6mm 1980's Danes in production.

Thanks for that, Mike. This year it just wasn't possible for me to attend so that was much appreciated.  :)

Thanks folks. Sharing is caring .... or self-promotion, take your pick :)

Westmarcher, that's why I post them ... so those who can't make it see what they've missed.

And, in a moment of cultural appropriation, next year in .... Granton! :)

Also thanks for posting Mike. Do you remember who was putting on that Samurai Naval game...really well done & appreciating all the scratch built ships.

Glad you liked the pics, Bob, the samurai naval game was by the Kirriemuir club, rules by one of the club members, ships are resin ones made by Scheltrum and I think the figures were by Scheltrum too. Much conversion of figures had been done if I'm remembering my brief conversation about it correctly.

Good to see you yesterday, and nice to catch up with everyone there after 2 years off.  It seemed a bit quieter than normal and the sales were down on previous events sadly.

And just to add to the fun, the van broke down on both journeys!  On Friday it threw up a warning error message as we got to Newcastle but after 4 garages and a 90-minute delay we were back on the road.  Then an hour after leaving Edinburgh on Saturday evening the engine shut itself down and we had to coast to the next lay-by.  After 10 minutes to think about what it had done, the engine kicked in and we managed to get home, albeit with another engine warning light staring at me.

Leon,

Sorry to hear about the van problems..with everything it takes for a vendor to get to a show, you simply don't need that kind of problem.

Maybe a sacrifice to the wargaming car gods are in order.... Some miscast figures, a few pieces of the old roof & anything else not cooperating these days for you.  🤔🧐😱😀

That sucks, Leon!

Was, as always, great to chat to you and Adele.

Happy to have added my modest amount to your Claymore tally. "Mony a mickle maks a muckle!" as I'm not sure we've ever said round here :)
