Title: Use of figure in different Ranges
Post by: Doug on 11 February 2011, 08:58:08 AM
I propose that a thread be started where individuals could say what figure/s in one range could be used in another, For example I have found that from the Dark ages range Arab Heavy cavalry can be used as mid period Bysantium heavy cavalry, or that SCW figures make excellent resistance/partizan figures for WW2. I am sure that other people out there have similar ideas. To make it intresting how about a competition to see who can fit one figure into the most different periods.

In that vein, I've used the creatures from the Sci-Fi range as Daemons for my Cthuhu-themed, Warmaster Daemon army.  I used SF11, SF12, SF13, SF18 and SF19.  They work very well in this role.

I believe Leon suggested Goblins for Temple Imps for a fantasy Samurai army.

Good post Doug  8)

I've got a couple favourite cross-figures: I've used VC2 NVA Rifleman firing AK w/ bush hat all over the place:

- Viet Cong

- NVA

- Russian Spetznaz

- Balkans Serbian Special Forces

The SCW are useful for whole loads of things as you say, including partisans and pulp figures too.

I also used a WW2 German NCO on one of my Gulf War command stands:

I'm sure there's more...
