We went for our constitutional swim this morning. The evening is for me to teach, Lee to attend an online meeting. The middle portion was the fun bit (see below):
Trying a second line for once. Risky; contracts the line and offers a flank.
The first battle for the Wicker Man.
My Numidians were disappointing! But for the big crunch, Romans enjoy an extended infantry fight, so I wasn't too worried here.
At ground zero it was alarming enough. Note Caesar personally joining in.
Lee didn't anticipate the Roman tactic of withdrawing one line and throwing in another. She won't forget it in a hurry now.
The catapults seldom achieve much. Today was no exception.
The broken Gaulish centre unexpectedly rallied and came back for more. But it was the last flicker of a dying candle.
You mean you WON !!! :o :o :o
I know, the mind goes into a flat spin at the thought. But there are pictures to prove it.
Not a bad way to spend the day :) .
Looks an epic battle!
Looks fun!
