Title: Russian Civil War base sizes
Post by: freddy326 on 08 February 2011, 01:33:43 PM
Hi,

I've just ordered up a few RCW figures to use with the Red Actions Rules from The Perfect Captain. As far as basing the figures I was going to go with the recommendations in RA with 3 - 4 infantry figures on 30 x 15mm and 2 cavalry figures on 30 x 20mm. Battalion support i.e hmg, mortar on 20 x 20mm. My question is what base size would you think for on board artillery, square 30 x 30mm?

Command bases were going to be 20 x 20mm circular for Captains with higher command being on 30 x 30mm circular

do these sound about right?, or should I consider different base sizes or possibly different rules?

thanks

Look ok to me, although I think you might one or two more toys on the base, I have only played in 20mm with those numbers of figures. It is an excellant game btw.

I'm not sure about those particular rules but they are the same size bases I use for WW1 and they look fine.

20x20mm just about the smallest I could squeeze them on.

I put mortars, FOOs and battalion command on 1p pieces, regimental command on 2p.
