While working through my current 15th Century eastern european DBA project I was doing some thinking about what figures were missing from the current ranges. After a fair bit of thinking about what I would like to see I stepped back and looked at it from the other side of the coin ie what would be something a manufacturer would be most likely to make.
My proposal is to make some cast shields that can be added on to the current late medieval range. Shapes would include a standard rectangular with rounded corners which were used by both foot and mounted widely from Germany to Lithuania. If they were thin enough they could be glued on top of the kite shields of the TB range spearmen to make the eastern city city militias. Another one would be a Hungarian/Balkan style shield which is a sort of rhomboid often with a curved cuttot on the top edge, again used by foot as well.
And while not an eastern europe prototype the heart shaped shield as used by spanish light cavalry (and some foot) would also be a possibiity.
Good thinking there.
