As mentioned in my previous post, I haven't been gaming, but I sure as heck have been painting and basing, and Joe Legan bullied me into proving I've actually been productive, so here we go with some blog posts (finally).
Next up we have my Red Devils based in a temperate scheme for Normandy and Market Garden. I have completed another Red Devils force for urban fighting (Market Garden), which you'll see soon, and I'm working on a third force based for the desert (Tunisia and Sicily). Yes, I seem to have gone a bit overboard, but I've definitely jumped into 15mm with both feet...

And there you go, my Red Devils, all set to jump into action. Been in love with these guys since I was a kid, from "The Longest Day" and "A Bridge Too Far," of course. Can't wait to get up to some mischief with them.

Can't believe you are doing 3 versions with different basing options! For mine I did one unit with bits of walls, the others with grass. Didn't think about doing some for the Med.
A couple of comments / suggestions. Darkening up the berets would look a bit better - the actual berets are a more of a burgundy rather than scarlet red. And the 17pdr looks a bit odd, the gun shield should slope back at nearly 45ยบ

Fred - Indeed it is, and yeah, I tend to get carried away, so temperate, desert, and urban just seemed the way to go ;) I hear ya regarding the berets, but I do like them to pop on the table, so I don't mind them being a bit bright. When we get to the urban guys you'll see their berets are a bit darker. Regarding the 17-pdr gun, I see what you're saying. I think the angle of the shield on the gun is okay, actually, the issue is the gun is leaned forward too much because (forgive me, I don't know the nomenclature) the 'spikes' on the bottom of the trails are really long and really pop the gun up high. Thanks man!

I've cut the 'spikes' on my 17-pdrs down - so they look like they are driven into the ground (I even drilled a couple of holes to facilitate that) - but they do look great
'Trail Spades' vice 'spikes' but we know what you all mean! ;)
More good stuff
Ha! Trail spades, indeed, and yes, I've identified them as the culprit. If I find some time I may work back to them and see if I can remove them without screwing up the base.
