Title: 39-45 Normandy 1944
Post by: Pruneau on 05 February 2011, 07:08:37 PM
Hi Guys,

I got my hands on an excellent special feature magazine (part 3) from the French revue Magazine 39-45.  It is dedicated to the first days of operation Overlord, and it is 80 glossy pages full of great pictures, information on commanders, uniforms, equipment, weapons, very interesting articles, great tactical maps, pictures of key buildings, landmarks and areas then and now, air pics of said landmarks and even hand drawn maps out of the reports and diary made by general Taylor of the 101st.

Excellent stuff, and I now found out they already published a part 1: 100 pictures of D-Day, with, you guessed it, 100 big pictures of D-Day operations, and not just of the beaches. A number of these pictures have served as source information for discussion over at http://www.normandy-1944.com/LaFiere03.html  (http://www.normandy-1944.com/LaFiere03.html)

Part 2 is dedicated to operation Sword. All in French of course, but that's hardly a problem for part 1  ;) There are two more parts in the pipeline

Both part 1 and part 2 are inbound as well, and I'm one happy bunny!  :D
