figures look very nice, as for the picture good stuff maybe move your camera a bit further away from the figures and you want them to be in the middle of your focal lenght (you can see the hedge that goes further than the figures is still in focus. I sound daft but some times the best way is to not use a macro feature and shot them from 30-50 cm away, most cameras now have so many pixels you can zoom in after because you only need 600-900 pixels wide for good online pictures (new cameras are about 4000pxl  wide)

You're struggling with the same problem I seem to have: depth of field.  The objects closest to the lens and furthest from the lens are slightly out of focus.  I always have the same problem, mainly due to the limited manual settings of my photo camera:

The only alternative I found is digital macro, which works OK for one small miniature, but has lousy depth of field.  I just did two tries making pictures of my new minis on bases and I just can't seem to get them perfect.  I'm borrowing my dad-in-laws digital camera, he has a Nikon with some good lenses...

As you say high f stop and therefore  long exposure is the key to good depth of field. But if this a problem due to your camera then try this cheat.

For web photos (were you probably only need a few hundred pixels on each dimension, but you have a multi mega pixel camera, you can put the camera further away. And then take the photo with the miniature only taking up part of the image. Then you can crop this on the computer to just show the figures.

As the camera is further away you get more depth of field for the same camera settings.

Pruneau, taking pics of miniatures is a problem for me. I don't like photography very much so I never studied how digitals works. I think to ask the help of a friend for the pics of painting contest.
Furthermore I can' t upload pics to forum  :'(

I use the "insert image." button and paste the filck link between the tags but don't work. Surely I made some mistake.

Right, I've had a quick look.  The link you were putting in the 'Insert Image' tags was the weblink, not the image link.  So it would have worked (ish!) if you'd used the 'Insert Hyperlink' button, like this:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/59504379@N04/5448771132/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/59504379@N04/5448771132/)

For an image:  When you're in Flickr, you need to click the 'Share this' button above the photo, and then go to 'Grab the HTML/BBCode'.  This throws up loads of code, but somewhere in there you'll be able to see: <img src="http://..........jpg"  Highlight from http:// to .jpg and copy and paste that bit into the Image tags here on the Forum.

So for that picture, you'd end up with the link of   "http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5140/5448771132_24555b9b66.jpg" inside your Image tags.

Let me know if that makes sense!
