In the style of A Muppets Christmas Carol...
Which movies would you refilm with muppets, except for which Human role (and actor).
I'm thinking Terminator and keeping Arnie as the Terminator.
I don't have an answer yet, maybe tomorrow.
However; I've seen compelling arguments, and I tend to agree, that a Muppet Christmas Carol is the finest adaptation of Dickens' script.
OK I have one.
Casablanca - a muppet movie. With Claude Rains (CGI'd obvs) as the human.
If we can't CGI Claude Rains, then Benedict Cumberpatch might stand in.
Gone with the Wind, retaining Hattie McDaniel. That should provoke a few flame wars upon its release.
Whom is taking me in vain !
Dr. Zhivago.
Not only would Miss Piggy finally get the role she deserves, most of the characters are already there Fozzy as Rod Steiger, Gonzo and Animal as quiet and noisy revolutionaries etc..
And yet another use for monks!!
We would need some casualty markers for when the cavalry charge the crowd.
Schindler's List but keeping Ralph Fiennes
I would really like to see The Longest Day as a muppet movie

Or maybe just the beach landing scene of Saving Private Ryan?
John Wick, but keep Keanu Reeves.
I'd suggest Party Political Broadcasts ..... but they feature a bunch of muppets already!
QuoteJohn Wick, but keep Keanu Reeves.
John Wick, but keep
Keanu Reeves Ian McShane.
FIFY :)
The MCU and Disney Star Wars would both be improved by introducing Muppets.
"Charlies Angels" (2000) (Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz and Miss Piggy)
"The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" (Clint Eastwood, Lee van Kleef and Gonzo)
"Three Men and a Baby" (Tom Selleck, Ted Danson and Fozzie Bear)
Any film with Leonardo di Caprio replaced by Kermit
The recent Bond films replacing Daniel Craig with a block of wood for added acting ability
Quote from: fsn on 23 January 2022, 01:11:00 PMAny film with Leonardo di Caprio replaced by Kermit
Well I am MUCH better looking ;)
Ice Cold in Alex: Keep Harry Andrews.
Kermit: Captain Anson
Piggy: Sister Diana Murdoch
Fozzy: Van Der Poel / Lutz
Jaws with Cookie Monster as the shark ..... no, that was Sesame Street, wasn't it? :-\ Drat!
But keep Gregory Peck ...... no, wait, that was Moby Dick, wasn't it? :-\ Double drat! ~X(
Aliens but keep the person who played Newt

Newt (Carrie Henn) now ... "Aliens" was 1986. :o
Read her IMDB bio, she's seems nice and happy.
For older movies you really have to keep the person in the movie if you aren't going to recast

There's a tradition in "reboots" to cast a key actor in a cameo.
Original Actor Cameos (https://www.cbr.com/movie-remakes-original-actor-cameos/)
So I'd suggest recasting the star if the film is fairly old.
Where the star has deceased, we introduce the interesting challenge of identifying a stand-in.

Or, just use some dodgy CGI (Carrie Fisher, Peter Cushing)
But Animal isn't dead!
