Title: What You Got For Christmas
Post by: Heedless Horseman on 27 December 2021, 11:06:48 AM
Well, Why Not? I am sure that many will have received pleasant gifts amidst the doom and gloom!
Me... no 'presents'!  :(  But bought stuff for myself!

Several 10mm ESCENOGRAFIA EPSILON buildings, while they were there.
A couple of Doyusha 1/144 prepainted Panther tanks.
Have won at auction a box of Takara WTM Battle of the Bulge vehicles. No idea what will be in the box... (Won for £10!)... but 'hoping' for a full set!!!). Already have loads... just Greedy!  ;)
Ordered 3 1/1250 Full Hull Cold War Submarines for a possible underwater project. (Still looking for RN Hunter Killers and Diesel/Electric 'O' Class!).
Couple of 1/87 T34 Roco Minitanks.
A Bee/Bug 'Hotel' for the garden.
DVD Box Set of 'The Sopranos'. Never seen it but heard was good.

Sadly, the days of 'presents' are over, but a good haul!  :(  :)

Money received and spent on the Horizon:Zero Dawn board game base set and an expansion. I'm a big fan of the PC game.

Also, since I have a house full of "stuff" and no real wants that aren't gaming related, a charity donation in my name from my younger son.

From my daughter, not one but two Centurion tops, plus a couple of posters for the games room.

Also a book on the geology of Scotland.  :D

Happy FSN!

Oh well! Auction win turned out to be one Tiger 2. But a very friendly Tiger 2 and will be a nice pet.  ;D
Reminds of when I had started collecting Hinchcliffe 25mm Naps. Got the nod that an aunt was gifting me LOTS of figs! WOW! Turned out to be Airfix 1/32 Naps.
Oh Well.  ;D

Mine are a bit more boring I'm afraid!  I got a toolbox, some new work boots, a fancy Nutri-Bullet blender thing (!), socks and a hand-drawn LotR-style map of the UK.

Not a present as such, but I received these before Christmas:

Pre-production additions to the Medieval range ... pig faced bascinets, monks and nuns.  :D

Sorry, what is this "finished project" of which you speak? I do not believe I have met such a beast. :)

'Finished Project' is a probably Mythic state. If such is rumored to exist, the quest for it's lair will involve the exploring Hero in numerous encounters with voracious spawn and very dangerous avalanches in the traverse of the infamous 'Leadpile'.

My own WoR Medievals languish 'somewhere', not having quite achieved spiritual Nirvana. (They are just a little bit too big to 'mix it' with Pendraken. I had not even heard Tales of 'The Realm', then... so long ago.)!  Mayhap, someday, they shall arise to do Battle... ?

Nice little men, FSN.

Some 28mm FPW for skirmish games, a book on visiting the 1870 Sedan battlefield and a book on battlefield maps.

No wargaming stuff whatsoever.

However I did get an Owners Manual for TIE fighters and for Rebel Starfighters.

I also received a Black History book which has some useful bits on early African history.

When I was a teenager we used to call them "The Haynes Book of Lies", because no matter what job you tried to do thee was always a nut or a process that they had missed out.

Haynes do have a really good Motor Museum near Yeovil. its also near the Fleet Air Arm museum.
