If I enter one (1) stand with three (3) middle-eastern market stands and attached merchants, pots, boxes, etc. Would that be considered a foot stand or open catagory? Is the open catagory limited to one (1) stand?
Diregard question just read the rules, doh.
Actually managed to do some undercoating tonight too wow looks like i am on a roll ;D ;D ;D

Dang, I forgot about that! You're doomed Maenoferren! Doomed I tell ya!
Oh woe is me, for I am undone.
=O
I have found the ideal range to take a photograph of my figures....
18 feet.
You paint a figure, you look at it, you show it to others, you think yes that in fact is a nicely painted figure, then you take a photo and think...is that the same figure, where the heck was that spodge of paint, and when did I paint that colour there :o :o
Take 2! >:(
Hehe know the feeling. I have a digital macro function on my camera. The result is an up close picture that'll show every little detail you never saw before, and it's not pretty!
My first entry is up, hope you all like.
It's looking very nice, Rik!
Nice mammoth!

Excellent work, looking good there. I've got one of those converted mammoths on Dave's table to be put into a production mould at some point.
Sadly I cannot use this mini-diorama for the Open category.

Very nice indeed! And really colorful!
lots of ideas for the open category, basically more for this one than anything else :) everything still needs finishing off :-[
here are a couple of things I am working on at the minute :D
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc31/Maenoferren/DSCF2492.jpg)
bits and pieces for other ideas
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc31/Maenoferren/DSCF2494.jpg)
and this is only part of the ideas lol ;D ;D ;D
Like the cleavage on your damsel in distress! Why do the two barbarians turn their backs on us? Something to hide maybe? :D
My mammoths came today yey...
so I set to work -
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc31/Maenoferren/DSCF2501.jpg)
some injuries were self inflicted :-[
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc31/Maenoferren/DSCF2502.jpg)
But eventually we got there :D
(http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc31/Maenoferren/DSCF2505.jpg)
still some filling and filling to go
now just got to paint the flippin things :'(
;D 8)
Ouch!
There is even filing as well as the filling.
I think there should be a new category. How much self inflicted damage can you achieve in a painting competition :)
Nice technic. Using real blood to paint red! ;)
So what are you gonna stuff the mammoths with then?

I was thinking a little garlic, basil and possibly some oregano, :D :D :D
;D :D ;D
I'm thinking of painting a base of 7YW Infantry with a mounted commander in their midst. Would this come into the open category? Any limit on figures? It would be eight infantry and the mounted figure (which would take the place of two infantry figures I'd normally put onto this base).

Yeah, that'd be fine for the Open.

Very nice indeed. Comp is filling up nicely now, with a good standard throughout, and some of the stuff entered is just brilliant!

I hope to complete this conversion in time for the competition. An heroic colonial marines officer in battle armour. Sorry for the ugly and unclear pic. :-[

It stayed in "Marines" pack, with other soldiers and the APC. I buyed this pack in my first or second trip to Salute, several years ago. Initialy I used this miniature like "hero" in HotT demo game, in Aliens setting. I removed from previous base and put in this small diorama.

Backsdrummer, pretty nice stuff there. 8)
Do you do WWI in any other scales. I have been a WWI enthusiast for many years and, have decided to translate it into 10mm and a WWI dedicated Blog. My previous foray was 6mm, but after many moves and no interested game partners, I had traded my minis away. :(

Don't wanna rush you, but it's only 8 more hours, Maenoferren. And I wanna see what happened to the mammoth ;)
Someone kindly send me a PM mentioning that my entries hadn't posted. They appear OK for me. Can anyone else see my Prussian Artillery and Infantry Regiment 6 at the end of the open category?
All five of my entries here, with comments, in case the mods end up having to post them for me!
