Title: Green Light
Post by: Heedless Horseman on 13 November 2021, 07:43:08 AM
So... the Solar Powered Security Lights that I bought, DO actually work! (Nowhere near a proper mains Halogen, though, and only on for a very short time). Point is... after 3 failed attempts to switch them on in daylight, Drunken Me figured that getting the ladder out at 4am in the pitch Dark, 'just might work' ... and it DID! Only in My life...  :(  ;)  ;D

Good grief ! X_X

Keith..you're even more barking mad than me...which really does say something !

Up a ladder in the pitch black.."In the dark..(at that time of the morning) no-one can hear you scream.")

Says he..completely misquoting a certain classic film.

Cheers - Phil. :)

Just to amend. 4 purchased. 2 up and working, eventually... another will work... 4th, faulty switch, I cant fix and cannot be bothered to claim on 2 yr warranty... only £10 each on 'deal'!
Have ordered another 2.  :o

Point is... on a constant charge, use, recharge cycle... they aren't going to last all that long. Yes, you 'could' replace Lithium Ion Battery... but soldered in! Who is going to do that? And battery ~ 95% of cost? U/S? Just replace light unit.
(Mains halogens... replace bulb... and better performance!).

So... you have plastic casing, LEDs, solar panel, circuit board and a battery... all for waste...
Who will bother 'fiddling about' to remove battery?
'GREEN' ain't it!  ;D

I was thinking of that scene where Judy Garland discovers there's a xenomorphic life form on the trolley with her.
