Title: Indian Mutiny
Post by: parkerm17 on 11 August 2021, 08:33:25 AM
The Indian Mutiny range is a model of having almost everything one could need but I do have one request - some naval gunners for Captain Peel's men.   Any chance?

Would the naval gunners in  straw hats from the Boer War range not do?

Very possibly: many thanks for the tip: I will have to investigate.

That looks a rather expensive way to get very few figures in Senet hats as I have no use for the 4.7inch Naval Gun,   Can the figures be supplied separately?

I wonder how many now remember the superb field gun crew competition at the Royal Tournament?   Great fun and the source of much betting round the Fleet (we then had one).  I can remember seeing the Portsmouth Team training at Whale Island: lots of injuries!

Leon is normally pretty good on that sort of thing. PM him and ask.

Send a personal message to Leon.
He's been quite happy to supply one pack's guns with a different pack's crew (for the price of a single pack) in the past.

Best to check whether this is still viable in the new bigger production facility.
I doubt whether he's gone full 'Henry Ford' yet.

Alternatively just ask if he will supply the number of crew you want. You will pay a premium of a few pence a figure for this, but its not excessive.

If you don't need the guns, it's as per what Orcs has suggested.  Just add them to your next order. :)

p.s. Magister Militum also offer Naval gun crews and guns in the same pack in their Crimean War range (12 crew but about £0.90 more expensive than Pendraken).

Edit: ..... and not as good as Pendraken.  :-[

For crying out load, we are talking about pennies.  I'm sure Leon will sell crews without guns.  I seem to remember him setting out the policy on 'bespoke' orders here.  There will be an additional charge but his prices are very competitive anyway.

As I recall it was 20p per pack. Should this appear to be too steep might I suggest tin cup, tambourine and a few verses of Michael Rowed the Boat Ashore on your main street.

I have added naval gun crews and some big guns to my latest order and hope Leon and the Casting Elves will be kind: I am certainly not worried about the cost! (within reason, that is - don't book that cruise, Leon!)

Too late - just saw him at the Peir Head boarding a moblie white cliff
