Title: 6mm SCW Proxies
Post by: hammurabi70 on 10 August 2021, 06:40:58 PM
I am at a bit of a loss to know where to post my query.  I have in mind trying some SCW in 6mm.  Would German WWII do for Nationalists and Russian for Republicans?  Having them available makes it easy as a starting point but how aligned are they?  Would Italians be better for the Nationalists?  French for Republicans?

Have you ruled out Irregular Miniatures, who have a dedicated SCW range?

Thanks; interesting.  I was not aware of these so interesting long-term but I was thinking of trialling with existing figures and wondered what, if anything, might be appropriate. Were the Nationalists equipped as Italians, or Germans, or something else! Same for Republicans.

The Nationalists wore the distinct style of uniform worn by the Spanish pre-war Army of Africa and Peninsular army.  The Republicans wore whatever they could get their hands on but did produce their own distinctive khaki uniform.  Helmets were usually French or Czech.  Have a look at the 10mm Pendraken SCW range for the styles of dress.
