Oooh! Turks too! I like the way you think.

Funky!
Not just Suez, but a generic 1956 Cold War is my 10mm moderns project. If the Hungarian uprising or Suez had developed into full WW3, you get an interesting mix of WW2 kit and early modern stuff, so it's a good way to ease WW2 gamers into Cold War gaming without extensive outlay.
I have all the reference material required for an Ottoman Napoleonic range, but it would be a lot of codes to do it justice.

Except the SLR was not issued til 57, although 38 pattern webbing remained in service till the 70's.
Was it 1957? I am sure I read somewhere one regiment trialled it in 1954. Whatever, it's c1956-ish, lol, these are the kind of thing I'm after:

(Elheim 20mm)
Intriguingly, the Wiki entry cities an Osprey book that the SLR was used in Suez.
Ah, 5000 XM8 were trialled in 1954:

seconded this one. Better enemies for first crusaders than generic "muslims".
Proper Turkish nomads would be fun.
