Title: A Wars of the Roses clash
Post by: Norm on 25 June 2021, 06:08:29 PM
Playing through a wars of the Roses game, looking at the Sword & Spear rules. I am setting up a generic scenario to test several rule sets against.

My familiarity with Sword and Spear makes this first game a good bench mark game to allow rule comparison. Details are up on the blog. LINK

Many thanks for posting these WotR battle reports Norm. I am looking at using Never Mind the Billhooks and 28mm figures for small scraps (Bloody Barons 2 for major confrontations), so your reports are proving very useful and inspirational.

Thanks all. Andy, saw yesterday that Andy Callum is looking at a second edition of the NMtBH rules that will bring 100 years wars (maybe Italian wars as well)into the fold.

The Italian Wars would certainly be most welcome to me. I would also be able to do the post-1400 HYW in 15mm.

I'm watching the post daily, waiting for Joan of Arc and a few bits and pieces.

In 15mm I have Joan on horseback and also on foot, but the sculptor has gone for the fantasy girl in armour look rather than the short haired film version.
