Title: Larger scale relief
Post by: Redstef on 16 May 2021, 02:25:18 PM
Taking a break from the small stuff and trying to reduce some older purchases from the pile of shame

Unfortunately I added to this pile of shame last week with the Carthaginians :-[

Very nice.

Thee is no shame in your painting pile.

Its a well known fact that a wargamer to own his own weight in unpainted lead/metal /resin, to ensure well being and peace of mind.

Hmm I've got to either lose some weight or buy some more then  :-\

It was also entirely sensible to buy everything you think you might need in your lifetime as soon as funds permit to avoid future price rises and convert paper money into valuable metal.  ;)    Should you make a mistake (e.g. being unable to complete an army due to a manufacturer ceasing business) you can always slap the surplus on ebay as Out of Production vintage.  The rise and rise of commercial skirmish games and plastics must surely be due to the yoof of today  (and some us not so yoof)  not being able to afford big metal armies in the larger scales

Redstef, those are magnificent. I love the attention to detail, the wear/dirt on the shields, the shading/highlighting on the bronze armour. Beautiful!   =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

I'm afraid I can't take much credit for the wear on the shields. Apart from a localised wash and a few strokes from the paint brush to tie it together, most of the weathering is on the LBM shield transfer

You could take much more of the credit, if you were less open about were it actually belonged ;)
