Trying a new one this afternoon. Watch this space.
Are you going to be wearing heavy black eyeliner for this game, and looking sullen throughout.
Maybe Lee's going to take the barbarians. Though, mind you, my sympathies are very much with the Goths in this one.

If you do it historically the Romans stand no chance..
They put a catapult bolt into our King on round one. Both armies withdrew, badly shaken, after four rounds.
Archers don't usually stop a legion!
I needed to get some serious damage done before Valens was rescued by a large force of Byzantines and Franks whom he should have waited for in the first place. As it happened, both sides wimped out before they arrived. The foraging Gothic horse did arrive on the Roman rear, but Lee redeployed and wiped them out, alas.
Played Lee!
Course Lee does have a good of Geography.
Today the Goths and their allies, Kitty being leader, incensed beyond endurance by Roman rapacity and injustice, forces having been restored and allies for support against the enemies having been gathered, and suitable speeches made for the troops in need of inspiration, renew their assault on the Evil Empire.
Another loss lined up? :P

I'm pleased to report that the Gothic cavalry returned from foraging while the Romans were sacrificing (Jesus wasn't on their side today), and we carved up their support, including the dreaded artillery. Although the Franks and Byzantines arrived this time, the Imperial army never really got back on its feet.
Lee was Gothic then ?
She was determinedly Roman. She likes the various little specialities of the legions, and is not happy with armies lacking light cavalry.
