Title: The Bristol Bocage Inter War Light Bomber
Post by: Steve J on 18 February 2021, 10:01:41 AM
After a slight delay, my planned build of the little known Bristol 'Bocage' aeroplane has begun.

Looks good Steve.

As it might be expected to operate over the Bristol Channel - maybe the top Camo could be that red-brown mud colour we all associate with the Seven Estuary?

Just proves we are all totally nuts - assume it's 1/144 or there abouts ? Great stuff

Thanks chaps :) :).

@ Mark: Nice idea to 'hide' over the Bristol channel using estuary brown on the upper surfaces :D. I do want to do a seaplane of some sort, so it can land on rivers (I know not likely but I like the idea) and is based along the Severn somewhere.

@ Ian: Yep I'm nuts! It is 1/144th and IIRC they used to be owned by Skytrex, until that all went tits up a good few years ago.

Maybe the seaplane could be called the Severn Sea Serpent

I think all the Skytrex stuff is still around. H&R bought the micro armour, Red Egale? have the C19 ironclads, and I think 1/144th aircraft, and there is Skytrex 2000 for a rump. Other stuff is around as well.

That is just mad but as Ian has said, strangely tempting to make a model of!

Great to have a model to play with in a a Resistance v Gestapo game - especially the idea that it has a pair of forward firing 20mmcannons for strafing !!!

1/144 Lancasters are readily available in both plastic kit and diecast, although you're talking ~£16 a plane.

Lysanders on the other hand, which I want three of for my WW2 Turks, are hard to come by. Fox One Studios do a resin kit for about £25!

Consign that new-fangled autocanon chat to the repair depot..
There's nothing the Bosche fear more than the rattle of an air-gunner attempting to unjam his trusty Lewis.

I thought I might check this out and buy a model ... but then there is the usual Shapeways 'nonsense':

ORDER SUMMARY
Items (1) £4.83
Processing
£0.25
Shipping £14.57

Tax 0% £0.00
Total: £19.65
Your order will be charged in EUR. Your total is €22.20 EUR

Shame really - I wonder if I could just buy the code and get it printed in the UK. Hmmm.

I did consider it, so thanks for that Mark. The advantage to buyong the code is that youn can rescale to 1/160th and 1/300 as well, not that I could. If you do I'll take one if 1/200 or 1 in 1/160th and 1 in 1/300th
