Title: Assembly of WW2 German 88
Post by: Jerboa on 21 December 2020, 10:28:27 PM
Can this be put together without a lot of trimming or adding spacers? It's not obvious for me. There's insufficient space to fit the shield under the two spring equalizers.

Hi.Jerboa
You need to do some filing of the shield if I remember rightly.

The internet is my friend. It's a known issue. A little bending and filing required.

A little gentle bending of the two prongs (whatever they are) under the barrel was enough to get the shield to fit in my case.

Just leave it off (from Wikipedia):

Flak guns seem to regularly be missing the shield, those used in an AT role tend to have them, presumably being in more need.

I do think this model could do with some reworking - Leon?

I had problems getting it to fit - the recoil pieces seem to have become misaligned perhaps when the master mould was made?

It's on the list to get redone at some point.
