I need a little help understanding how support weapons and ATGs are based and costed.
I'm looking at the starter pack and it says things like
1 unit of mortars (3 mortars)
1 unit of MG (3 guns)
1 unit of 47mm ATG (2 guns)
When is look at the points values they are
Mortars - 75
MG - 40
47mm ATG - 65
Questions
Mortars- are they on one base or three, and do they cost a total of 75 or 225
MG - are they on one base or three, and do they cost a total of 40 or 120
47mm ATG - are they on one base or two and do they cost a total of 65 or 130
Cheers,
Nigel
The short answer is .... yes!
The longer answer is that it depends how you base your figures.
Personally I have two MGs or Mortars to a base - pointed at 40 and 75pts respectively.
I could have 1 or 3 per base, points cost and effect in game remain the same.
My "dug-in" MGs are one to a base to give room for the emplacement.
All that changes is the aesthetic.

The points cost is per base, not the number of weapons on a base.
Like Ithoriel, I tend to base 2 mortars or MGs on a base, as I use the same size bases for infantry and support weapons. But you could use smaller bases and base up one MG or mortar to a base.
For guns I go with. 1 per base.
As the guys have said, the points cost is for the base, so you can choose how many models you want to put on there. We've listed the pack contents as the 'minimum' units that you can assemble with the contents, but you could choose to have those 3 mortar teams on 3 separate bases (@ 75pts each) and get a bigger army without buying any extras.
My stuff has one model per base, except infantry where it's 4, 6 and 10 mm
As others have said. it depends on your opinion
I base infantry 4,5 to a 40x20mm base 40 facing the enemy
I base all my support on 20x20mm square bases
Artillery are on bases that they will fit on.
if you go with 2 per base then you will need to buy extra packs (can get costly when you start building bigger units)
the choice is yours.

I and my gaming colleagues use a 30mm frontage for all units
30 x 30 mm base
Infantry 3-4 figs per base.
HMGs, mortars 1 per base
Guns 1 per base
Specialists - FAO, FAC etc 25mm washers or 2p piece
Vehicles and Larger guns 30mm fromtage just adjust the depth to fit.
Command - We make this a bit more like a Vignette.with other figures/tents etc on it. Just mage sure the CO is easy to identify. Some of the nice command vehiicles need a larger base so 40mm or 50mm . I use Circular ones to make them stand out from the normal units.
Regarding command bases, I use Pendraken's 7mm Dual Dice Frames on the base and put their CV level on the dice for quick reference.
As far as my support weapons go I single base them on a appropriate sized base. That way I can use them for other game systems that are 1 to 1.

I mark command values with a disk of thin grey board, produced by a hole punch, painted white and marked with the base CV. Using dice to mark casualties meant using them to mark CV too could be confusing to the tiny minds that usually gather round my table (self included).
