As per usual on a Saturday.....Down to the village....Collect pills and weekend papers....Go to mini (It's a bit more than mini, in truth) supermarket.
Get two 'pasties', two chunky Kitkats (for Von).....and a lotto ticket. X_X
Go to till.....Operative puts items 'through' the machine......"Ooooh that doesn't look right.".......It's telling me £330-76p.
Me....."I shall take my custom elsewhere."
Cheers - Phil ;) (It was sorted). ;D ;D

Many, many moons ago a group of us went to the south of France where we stayed in a charming hill village just outside Apt, near Avignon. Four of us split off from the rest for the day and drove down to Antibes and after a wander about we retired to a restaurant and had a nice but not hugely expensive meal, which I paid for with one of these, then, whizzy new-fangled credit card thingies.
Getting back, I discovered that the bank had converted the cost in francs (yes, it was a loooong time ago) to GBP ..... just over 12,000GBP in fact! Eek!
The lady who took my call asked,"Did you pay for a meal or the restaurant?" She quickly identified that someone had multiplied where they should have divided and came up with a more reasonable sum.
They are usually pretty good at correcting mistakes.
Couple of years ago a mate of mine bought some figure carry cases (the cardboard ones with foam inside); it very nearly went a little wrong and brought an early heart failure when he spotted just in time that the retailer had misplaced a decimal and was about to charge him £2500 per £25 case :D
Oh how he laughed, as the paramedics tried to resuscitate his bank account, heart and sense of humour ;)
They would have had a problem restoring my sense of humour - aint got one ! :d
I think you have, Ian.....You just keep it hidden. ;)
Cheers - Phil :)
