Title: Macedonian or Greek Pike
Post by: Orcs on 09 November 2020, 09:19:12 AM
I seem to remember that you used to produce Macedonian/greek Pike.

Was this the case, or am I going mad (actually don't answer the second part of the question )

There definitely was as I have a bag of them. They disappeared from the site after the Greeks revamp went up, along with other Macedonians.

We've still got the moulds for them but as Will and mmcv have said, they were dropped from the catalogue when the new Greeks were launched.  We'll be going back to make a specific Macedonian range but I don't think we'll hit it until mid-2021.

You know the equation for number of Horses needed  N=X+1

N= Number of Horses you already have
X= Number of horses you need

Its the same basic equation most of the Forum use for how many figures they need- just change the word horses to figures.

That should be X = N + 1 though. As otherwise horses needed will be horses owned - one. That will never do for figures!

I think I should be allowed to make a prone Macedonian (with the weapon of your choice).....Just to annoy Nobby. ;)

Cheers - Phil

Yes, well let's not think about prone figures ... let's just eliminate them from our minds shall we?

Ditto kneeling figures.

Can I request a kneeling pikeman too then?

I have to admit there was a certain inevitability to that.   :P

No kneeling pikemen? You should have told that to Gerry Embleton before he did the illustrations for MAA 94, The swiss at war.

Different period - different tactics. The Swiss kenlt to recive cavalry. Cause they held the pike on the sholder, Macedonians were at waist level.

And just 1 today Phil, 4? back on Sunday
