Have you considered having some labourers burying dissident scholars alive in the baggage train?

A good looking army.

What are the smaller command bases for at the back of units?

I've still to do the camp so maybe. Our someone warming themselves by the fire of burning books.

I'm likely just going to make a couple of generic camp elements for the period that can be used by all rather than a specific one per army.

It's primarily based for To the Strongest which has both attached and detached commanders, either mounted or on foot. So the different command bases indicate detached (the general in the chariot), attached mounted (the half hex cavalry) or attached foot (the long thin ones).

I had planned to do the foot attached on half hexes too but it didn't look quite right, so went for a 40x10 instead.
