Please bear with me on this. I have a biggish Prussian and French armies for 1870. Recently on Facebook saw someone doing a Prussian invasion of Britain. So ignoring all the reasons it did not happen, which Pendraken ranges would it be best to use for British. Thinking perhaps Zulu war range, but would anything else work better?
The troops at Iswanbana and Roorkes Drift were in home service uniform. So probably yes. Some of the Crimean stuff might fit as well.
No, no, no, no.
Please don't do this to me.
I have considered a C19 "Chocolate Box" campaign - Brits, French, Prussians, Bavarians, and Austrians. I do not need encouragement for yet another project, so please don't do this.
I would use the Zulu War range, and maybe Highlanders from the Indian Mutiny.
Now there is a thought, A reformed French army having had their version of Dunkirt. Now the crown Prince does not have to die in Zululand.
Thank FSN
Or get later 19th century Austrians, whom they both actually fought....
Not a bad idea at all. I love the invasion 'what if's' of the UK :).
There's also the Fenian Raids range (1866-1871) in the 19th Century / Americas section.
(Plus - Didn't some British regiments - like some other countries - imitate the Prussians by adopting a kind of Pickelhauben / spiked helmet around about that time, also?)
Most did, but before you ask, uniforms are cut differently to Prussians.
How about PG Wodehouse's The Swoop where the plucky Brits face a myriad of enemy forces?
Cheers,
Geoff
