With the contents of the Perry 28mm ACW Battle in a Box set now painted, I set the table up for scenario 6 (taking the farm) from the Perry Firepower rulebook.

Good looking game and miniatures. :-bd
I particularly like your Zouaves (unlucky by the sound of things - not their fault they suffered a nasty result of 5 hits?). By the way (currently painting some north American Pendraken stuff), what colour did you use to paint the Zouaves' haversacks?
Nice battle report Norman.

Thanks all
The bags were painted with Vallejo 819 Iraqui Sand. Followed by a thinned ink wash and then a highlight thrown back in, using the original Iraqui Sand. I have no idea whether that is the right colour, but it looks okay and I find Iraqui Sand one of the most versatile in my painting armoury!

Seconded :)
Thanks. That one appears to be quite popular but alas, one I don't have in my own paint box. Must address that omission sometime.
(I've got Dark Sand, mind you, but that is more of a yellowish buff).
I've been using Israeli Sand quite a bit recently as a primer on brighter figures (like Aztecs) as well as mixed with PVA for basing. It's a bit of a duller sand colour so works well for a variety of base colours.
So, we've got Iraqi Sand & Israeli Sand.
Where's English Sand, containing fag butts, empty lager bottles and discarded needles, and smelling strongly of wee?
