Nah..... ;)

That name doesn't have anything to do with GW.

It belongs to ancient myth ,or Emerson, Lake and Palmers' old record lable.

Manticores are no strangers to those with a taste for middle-eastern myth.

I look forward to the introduction of the M2A1 Stormblade or the M3A2 Land Raider :)

The M113 and Rhino already look like each other :)

When will the US introduce the "Donald Trump" class Titan ... a big titan, a bigly titan the bigliest titan in the world! Helping to make Amer the Imperium great again! :)

I would definitely wish to see a Tarkus  AFV

So would I.....I might even buy one of those.

Though  :-\......Has Leon got any existing tanks that would make a good 'frame/base' for Tarkus ?
If he has, I could even have a go at making one.

(I wouldn't do one from scratch......I'd leave that to one of the straight line designers. ;))

Cheers - Phil :)

A MkV WWI tank is your start, a man of your skills should be able to chop that in to something totally unlike the original  :-*

I always felt the album covers overwhelmed the music.

That's what I was afraid of......Having to do a 'cut and shunt'.....I was hoping there was some sort of WWI tank that was shorter front to back.

That's going to be a swine to do really neatly....I'll give it a go, tho'.

Thanks, Ian. :)

Can we have 2nd 3rd and 4th opinions on that

Also - base it on a female with sponsons to give you a solid holding point. And I have no idea where you can get an Aradillo skin from !

That won't be TOO difficult to do with green stuff, Ian.  :)

I think the length of the Mk V is probably OK. It is the width that has been chopped down on the album cover. It might be easier to press mould the tracks and add them a new body, rather than trying to dremel the tracks off. I don't recall that any of the WWI tanks have separate tracks.

You're right, Forbes....

Now that you've pointed that out.....It IS much narrower  than I'd thought.

'Chopping it' that way, wouldn't need so much in the way of repairs

Loved the Tarkus album cover...even listened to the LP...for a while!  ;)
The critturs WOULD make an interesting game!  ;)
So, Now you need a Manticore, a PteroWHATEVER...etc!!!   I can't even remember the cover now, (I DO have the LP somewhere!), and vaguely remember the synth...but I doubt that they would be a 'Seller'..unless you gould get an endorsement from ELP, (still LIVING?)...in which case you might get about 30 rather stoned/drunk  buyers thinking "WOW! MAN, THATS COOL...REAL COOL!"  8)
Possible marketing opportunity for coaster beer mats for the pints of Strongbow/Special Brew?  ;D
It Could take off...given the weirdness of Fantasy figs...but...
...then again, Tarkus is 'Historical'!!!  ;D :'( ;D

I'd be just making a 'one-off' for myself, for fun, HH. :)

I doubt very much whether the wargames industry would be particularly interested in Tarkus ......It wouldn't sell...and as you point out there would be copyright/intellectual property to consider....... although you'd just might get away with it, as long as you didn't call it Tarkus.
Carl Palmer is the only member still alive.

Cheers - Phil (Neither stoned, or drunk.) ;D ;D ;D ;D

I would use a razor saw to cut a section out of the centre of the MKV and then glue them back together.

With a view to the age demographic of 'traditional wargamers' do we think that a 10mm (not) Tarkus would sell?

For the record I would buy at least 5

Basically your saying " We are a load of old or very old gits"  :)

Correction :- we are a collection of bodies of old or very old gits, with an average mental age in just about into double figures

Oh, alright......I won't just slap paint on the 'master'...Just in case Leon wants to mould it up.

We'll see. ;)
