Title: Custer ?
Post by: monkeynut on 01 June 2020, 10:24:33 PM
To compliment your Plains Indian range would it be possible to suggest/request a 1876 US cavalry "Custer" range;

Normal cavalry pack ie 1 Officer, 1 standard, 1 trumpeter and 2 types of troopers casually riding.
Trooper mtd firing pistol  5 in pack
Trooper mtd firing carbine. 5 in pack
Trooper mtd with sabre drawn 5 in a pack
Troopers dismounted loading, firing pistol/ carbine along lines of ACW infantry packs say 5 different poses
Dismounted command group Officer, standard and trumpeter
Mounted and dismounted Custer sell as character pack
Mounted and dismounted Major Reno As above
Mounted and dismounted Captain Benteen as above
Mounted and dismounted Native scout as above

Present ACW figures not really suitable need specific types for battle of little big horn, wide brim hats no beards etc
Maybe a candidate for a mini kickstarter? 🤨In the future if and when you ever get time and complete the backlog of new projects on the workbench 😬2035 maybe?
My inner  E.Flynn is aching to break out Hollywood style😁

All the above are my own personal preference and are not intended as an "extensive " list Of what may be required or needed.
Thanks

You need also Horseholders, plus you need the decent troops, like Buffalo soldiers, Hook, Terry, US Infantry, Mountain guns, gatlings...

Yeah +1 on this.

Could also be used for various other scenarios along lines of the old classics ie Fort Apache, She wore a yellow ribbon etc. Good times watching the movies on a Sunday afternoon with my grandad .
Now a John Wayne figure sculptured as a cavalry officer. Mind blown !! 😃🤪

No wonder the US cavalry had such a hard time tracking them down. Some powerful and potent" medicine" at work there🤨

Father, how do we get our names?
Well my son when a male child is born the Father opens up the tepee ,steps outside and surveys the land. What he first sees is what gives you your name.An eagle feather,Crazy Horse , Running Bear or Sitting Bull for example. Why do you ask Buffalo balls?

.... and that my son is why your name is shortened to Two Dogs. ;)

10mm Pony Wars .... I feel another, never to be completed, project coming on. :)

Maybe a Major Dundee character figure is required alongside a Captain Nathan Brittles and Sgt Tyree character pack?

Lots of potential.

My first 10mm army was Sioux and Cheyenne allies. They looked super, but weren't the most rewarding to use (perhaps because of unsuitable rules).

Come to think of it, my first figures were Airfix Injuns, lined up and shot at with matchstick spring guns. I always liked the crawling one, who was very  difficult to knock over.

I would be more than happy to pay more for "character " figures/ sets if this ever gets off the ground.

I've often wondered why there is a Plains Wars indian range and no 7th Cavalry.
