Last night we played by email the assault on Dybbol using Black Powder and beer, until the email system broke down. The Prussians had won by then...
The game

Shouldn't put beer into the computer Will.
Nice one, Will !! :-bd
Cheers - Phil :)
Good job, Will! And well done for keeping the dice rolling despite quarantine. Your troops on snow bases look great. I love a winter layout.
For my own take on Dybbol, I wanted to do more than just the frontal assault on the earthworks. My BBB scenario therefore includes the skirmishes outside Dybbol before the siege, and the amphibious assault on Aals after Dybbol's fall. Haim Ben-Zion did a beautiful custom mat for the BBB Bash Day in 2016, including a splendid Rolf Krake:

Yes, very impressive. How did you do the snow effects on the bases?
Great AAR will and nice to see an oft neglected conflict gamed. Haim's custom game for BBB was indeed a joy to behold.
Nice write up Will
Did you play the defenders in the remote game?
Yes, I was the defender (and my youngest was the artillery commander on the first turn, hence the devastating fire).
Snow effect is easy, milliputt bases, add footprints by the back of a scalpel, brown ink, white highlight, repeat the highlight, GF9 snow scatter on top.
Enjoyed reading that. Very evocative of the period.
Chris, I would love to play yours some day, I'm sure, knowing the time and effort you put into them, it is an amazing game. 8)
Good game, those snow bases look well.
