Wouldn't mind seeing a re-sculpted Russo Japanese War range. There are gaps in the original range and an updated range with infantry, artillery, cavalry, high command would be most appreciated!
Things may be afoot here... We've got a customer who's interested in commissioning a revamp of this range so there may be some news later this year.
I saw the sculpts for the new RJW range on face ache today and I must say they do look really good and extremely comprehensive. I made a start with this period about four years ago, but apart from collecting some figures and books I made no further progress. I am looking forward to buying some of the new stuff to add to my current collection, and sending the proxies back to their original eras, and also finally getting to use the guns I sourceed from Japan.
Quote... finally getting to use the guns I sourceed from Japan.
Do tell more?
Yes, I don't know if these ones Leman was talking about but I was thinking of getting the Fairy Kikaku
pieces from HLJ:-

Those are the weird kind of heavy guns I was hoping to see!
I wonder if they are available as 3d prints now? The resin models are expensive and look fairly crude (resin hardly seems the best medium for such small items) perhaps they clean up better.
There is a company called Actual Size Miniatures on ebay that does random 3d printed resin 19th century guns in varying scales, you could ask him. I've got some of his 28mm size Gatling guns for my 1877 Turks and they are very nice.
There are probably similar companies out there somewhere.
Although a lot of 3d printing firms cannot scale down below 1/100 (15mm) for a variety of reasons.

Hi,
The Hobby Link Japan models are actually better in the flesh than they look. I have some and will post some pics when I get a moment.
The Actual Size range is lovely. I have 28 mm Boer War stuff from him. Really crisp and accurate pieces.

The Hobby Link ones are lovely - hard to believe I bought these 10 years ago

Hi Shedman,
Many thanks for confirming my own thoughts on Hobby Link models. I love your own treatment of the RJW on your blog. Great scenarios and narrative. I loved it so much that I borrowed some of your ideas for proxies and then went large on getting Leon to agree to a range......I hope you are still playing the period and that you will benefit from getting some new models.
Time willing I would love to do a RJW scenario book for Bloody Big Battles. But as ever time is not that willing.

Thanks for the info all - good to hear the HLJ stuff comes out well.
