I seem to remember back in the eons of time (probably before Phil got his first toga) there was a posting that listed all the promotions and at what number of postings you wee awarded them.
Does anyone remember this
If not can we have the list posted again please.
Next one for you is in about 950 posts in your case Orcs...
Yep....Pretty sure it's 5,000 for your next one, Mark.
Then 7,500 ?
Then 10,000 ?
You're right...there was a list.....But I don't think it went beyond the 10,000 mark.
If you've got too much time on your hands, you can scroll through the list of members and check folks' rank compared to their number of postings.
I'll do a quick cheat and look at one of the Stats pages.....That'll help a tiny bit.....I can't remember whether got my last promotion at 15,000 or 17,500......But (Thanks to Will) we know that there IS one at 20,000.
Cheers - Phil
OK...
You might be able to extrapolate from this... ;D
As I plonk out this list.
Will - 20,245 - Marquis (That was at 20,000, I'm sure)
Me - 18,931 - Count (17,500 ?)
Leon 16,061 - Viscount (15,000 ?)
No-one here at the mo' - Earl ? - (12,500?)
Andy - (Leman) 10,647 - Field Marshall (10,000 ?)
Alexander (Kitty) - 10,055 - Field Marshall
Paul R - 8,873 - General (7,500?)
Nobby - 8,778 - General
Steve J - 7,727 - General
Nik (Harwood) 7,691 - General
Ian - 7,169.....Doesn't appear to have a rank ? (Lt General ? - 5.000 ?)
Mollinary - 3,002....Major General (3,000)
So....The only thing I can't work out/remember is if there's a rank between Field Marshall & Viscount......There must be. :-....Earl (?) at 12,500...I'll put that in for the time being
Cheers - Phil.
All I can say is Major General appears to pop up at 3,000!
We'll have that one, then !!
Cheers - Phil
My rank is "play tester", but thought I showed as a Lt Gen.
I think it should, Ian .....I ASSUME that would have kicked in at 5,000. :-\
I'll add it as that for the time being.
Cheers - Phil

to me - you saying it isnt showing the Lt Gen on yoiurs, seems odd, not that I'm worrying, after all I KNOW i'm the best !
Fascinating. :-\
On the 'board'.....you ARE now showing as that...(It wasn't earlier, honest guv).....But still not on your profile page...or if you look at the 'list of members'....That shows you as 'Playtester'...But not any rank.
Have a gander at that, and see if it shows the same for you.
Cheers - Phil
Very odd - any idea what the blue stripe in the right hand box is ?

I think that just goes up with the number of posts, Ian....If you look at Will in the list of forum members, he's almost filled it in !!
Cheers - Phil

In theory yes, I'm not quite sure why you've not had the promotion there. It might be another bug in the system, or something to do with 'visible' posts versus those made on the playtesting board?
I've found one other member who's between 7,000 and 7,500 (Hertsblue - 7140posts) and he's still showing as a Lt Gen, rather than a Gen....So maybe it is 7,500 for a General ??
Right...I've finished mixing my next bit of putty....Now to go and put it on a figure. :)
Cheers - Phil

I think you're right, I've had a look inside the Membergroups settings and it's down as 7500.
Well I am 'just' a colonel, but I don't care, i have just checked a colonel's salary and it is currently £90k -
Leon, I accept Paypal :-)

It LOOKS as though that looks more likely, Leon. :)
The jumps from rank in rank from Lt Gen to Marquis are all steps of 2,500, by the looks of things.
If the General came in at 7,000 there would be a jump of 3,000 to Field Marshall, then back
down again to 2,500 to get to Baron.
Cheers - Phil (I think I've got that right ;D ;D)
Not until you get 7500 :P

And I've just been promoted! Ahh, the irony.
Okay, so now I'm Lt.Col., which battalion do I get?
Sumat int Pioneer Corp, to reflect your political veiws.
Is the Middlesbrough Foot and Mouth, a Battalion.....Or a regiment ?....Or summink else ?
Cheers - Confused of Wales ?
It's infantry - so tactically a battalion and administartivly a regiment. In theory in British usage a Regiment and Battalion are synonimus where you only have 1 unit, so as for instance 5/8th Kings Liverpool is 5th Btn, 8 rgt of Foot. To complicate matters the RA is one Rgt, whilst in WWII units forming part of the RTR were Btns, but Cavalry unites were Rgts. Even more confusing - in WWII an Infantry Division had a Signals Btn till 44?, and an Armoured Division and a Sigs Rgt.
Answered your question Phil, are just confused you more ?
I'll give you three one guesses. ;)
Cheers - Phil 8-}
