Knowing the time differences on this forum (anyone in Hawaii?), thought I would get this going now.
Merry Xmas all, may your presents be full of little silvery things and you have a peaceful and prosperous time.

(Didn't I say this on another thread, about two minutes ago ? ;D ;D ;D)
All the best - Phil.
But Phil don't you celebrate Beltane, under the guidance of Druids ? ;)
Merry Christmas, peeps! <:-P
The only reason Phil knows that is because he was there instructing, the original Druids, as they built Stonehenge!
Merry Christmas, Everyone! <:-P <:-P <:-P

Merry Christmas, folks!
Happy Xmas / midwinter festival of choice to you and all!
If you're interested in some winter cheer, the Tiger who came to Tea was very good, and if you're feeling "bah humbug" the Beebs "Christmas Carol" adaptation is bloody terrifying :)
Joyous Noel to all.
Still Christmas Eve here - Best wishes to everyone, thanks for making this forum a friendly place to roam around.
Merry xmas to all......at the inlaws today :)
Drive that normally takes 50 mins took 3+ hours.....so many idiots who just have to get one car in front >:(

Merry Christmas to all.
Turkey in the oven, children (teenaged) playing on phones, waiting for my wife and father in law to arrive. Having a little sit, as seems to have been rather busy for the last 90 mins!
Just finished watching Carry on up the Khyber, THE best Carry on Film ever!
Carry on Screaming and Carry on Cleo give it a good run for its money IMHO.

Agreed on both, but I would still stick with the Khyber!
I've spent the day on my own ... as I usually do.
My daughter gave me a breakfast pack from her local butchers ... soooo good. Needed a long nap afterwards mind you.
Best Carry On Film is either Carry on Sergeant or Carry on Nurse ... why?

Shirley Eaton :x :x :x :x :x :x :x
I would go for Khyber, or the first I ever saw, Follow That Camel, as a vehicle for Bilko
Always torn between Khyber & Cleo... but Screaming definitely deserves special mention.
Do you mind if I smoke...
We showed them to a Belgian friend once, to immerse him in British culture and humour. He was... blank, about the experience :D

Masterful film making, a finer example of the pinnacle of human art you could not find!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Sadly a virus hit during our final week at work so I've been out of action since then. Managed most of Christmas day and Boxing day but back to bed last night and still rotten today. Hopefully it'll have buggered off by New Year.
Get well leon!
Am i wrong or is that a trend? Didn't you suffer the same last year?

It does seem to be a fairly annual occurrence these days. I always wonder if it's due to us not taking any time off during the year, so the bugs just sit and wait until we finally get some free time, and then bang!
Take care of yourself.
Merry Xmas to all (yes I'm late :-[ )

I
thought that had happened, 'cos you'd been a tad quiet.
You shouldn't have gone to the school play !.... X_X X_X
Germs galore !!
I can't talk...I've been in bed for more than half the day with a hot water bottle on my 'gut'......you don't want to know....But it'll probably mean an 'op' next year....Deep joy. =)
Get well soon, Leon !
Cheers - Phil

You should take a day off now and then, you have a good crew!
Get well soon Leon, taking an occasional break during the year might confuse the bugs ;)
Techno, hopefully an 'op' isn't required, I hope you feel better soon
That ain't going to happen, Paul. :(
I'll either be called in, to have a 'booked in' op, at some stage.....Or it'll be a case of having to go in, because something's gone 'very pants'.
I thought that was going to happen today.
Phil
Get well soon Leon.
All the best Leon and hope you feel better soon.
Commiserations and best wishes to you both. And, indeed, to any other forumites suffering from conditions and ailments chronic or acute!
Leon, my wee one's down with croup and/something similar viral, it's hit loads. Even better the t'other half has now caught it so I'm unlikely to avoid it either! Unfun but wildly common this year :(
Techno - is that the gall bladder? No bloody fun at all either, hope they whip it out if it's at fault. Fear it not, it's a very practised procedure. And if not I hope it's something equally quick!

Seconded
No....It's a 'narnia' the size of a tennis ball. =)
I think it partially 'strangliated' (sic) yesterday....'Cos I just could not push the sod back in, and it was getting more and more painful by the minute. :(
I just feel rather battered and fragile, this morning.
Cheers - Phil (And yes.....Hope you feel better soon, Leon.)
If it's a strangulated hernia Phil, or you think it is, get down to A&E ASAP!!! I had an inguinal hernia op last month and one thing they said in advance was, you will know if it becomes strangulated as you'll feel bloody awful. The op is easy (mine was open surgery) but the recovery takes around 4 weeks before you feel you can do anything safely, then it's slowly building up the strength etc.
If it had lasted another half hour, at that level of pain...it would have been a trip to A&E......That's what the doc said to do anyway, Steve.
There was 'something stuck'.....
I think after kidney stones....that was the worst pain I've experienced.
The irony is that I could have had an op around 10 years ago.
TINY little hernia....size of a marble....But when the time came to go under the knife....It seemed to have basically 'healed'....So I turned the op down.
Nothing was picked up when I had all those CT & MRI scans.....and I'd basically forgotten all about it.
Sure it was moving dead sheep, which weighed more than me, that's done the damage.
Hey Ho.
Cheers - Phil
That's ya punishment for necrophilia, ya sorta-Pommie basstud!
(which said, sympathy!)
Youch.
Just proves that the welsh habit of stealing sheep is painful ( luck with the op)

That's why they used to steal live ones, it's much easier, but then we are talking about Phil! :d
Good luck with the op, when ever it is.
Cor, that sounds very little fun at all, Phil!
It wasn't !
But it's been behaving itself for the past 24 hours, so I'm feeling a LOT better ! :)
No idea when I'll be able to get the op..I've got to go and see a consultant (?) first...so I'm waiting for that letter to arrive.....then when will the appointment be, to actually see matey ?.....(I expect that'll be a good few weeks at the very least......Then it'll be going on the waiting list.
I shouldn't think I'll be actually under the knife for a long time......Sometime next Autumn ? (Said he, guessing wildly)
As it stands (at this moment in time).....It's not going to be classed as urgent, in the slightest.
I just hope I DON'T have to go in as an emergency...if it plays silly b*ggers.
Cheers - Phil
I had to go private in the end as basically it appears nigh on impossible to get a hernia operated on by the NHS, short of an emergency admission for a strangulated one. All of the doctors and nurses I spoke to thought it was a completely bonkers situation :(. Fingers crossed for you Phil.
Hi Steve. :)
That sounds about right.
I'm sure I read....(or heard on the radio) that bulk standard hernia ops were basically a 'no-no' on the NHS now..(to save money...which is fair enough)....And that the only ones that got done were likely to be 'emergency' ones.
It MAY be slightly different, here in Wales.....At least I've made the effort to get it sorted. ;)
Cheers - Phil
Couldn't find an appropriate thread and when I found this, I couldn't be bothered opening a new topic :-[ so this seemed as good a place as any to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
p.s. sorry to read about your latest health worries, Phil. All the best.
Hope you are feeling better Phil, sounds awful. Hope Von is looking after you.
Get her to sing "Soft Kitty" to you. :)
Leon,
I think your right about illness waiting until you have time off. You ought to take a break here and their. A short delay in our figures arriving is not going to kill; any of us - in fact most of us have lead mountains anyway
Thanks, Both... :)
At the mo' I'm feeling fine...A tiny bit 'iffy' yesterday...but nothing more.
I can certainly cope with it at this level.
And also.... a Happy New Year from me to everyone on the forum ! :-bd
Cheers - Phil
Glad to hear you are feeling better Phil
Happy New Year to All <:-P

Behind in thread reading so missed seeing your troubles Phil. Glad you seem to be getting better. Hope the upward progress continues!
Incidentally, I have started painting some of the figures you sculpted for me. They are truly lovely with exceptional detail! Thanks again!
You're more than welcome, Bill.
Nahhh....Don't worry about me.....I just truly hope that 'P' is on the mend. (I'll post soon, to let everyone know that I've already started on this year's 'bloodletting'....Thank goodness it was a no.15 blade......and not a 10A....Otherwise I'd have gone straight through my left index finger....I am a twerp ! X_X)
You take care my friend, and give my best to the better half.
Very best wishes - Phil
Phil, you carve enough meat you might as well do your hernia op yourself :S
We're down your way for hols in June if you need someone to pass you the duct tape and medical whisky ;)

We're trying to take more weekends off where we can, but it's always a tricky balance. With having so many staff now as well, we need to be in there every day to make sure that everyone's go jobs to do. Things like printing off the orders, checking PayPal payments, putting them into the spreadsheets, etc. are all jobs that I do and there's no one else to take those on. Longer-term I suppose I'd have to train someone to do those, but you're starting to get into passwords, access to money and VAT record keeping, which I prefer to do myself to make sure it's correct.

Don't ! ;D ;D That reminds me of one of the artists at GW, who came far too close to disemboweling himself when cutting a piece of Daler card. :o :o :o
It was
way too close for comfort !
(And I'd only just bandaged his finger up, 'cos he'd already just done a 'Techno'. =))

Oo, nasty Phil! My father outlaw was a tool maker / works manager for his career and it's a wonder he's still got all his limbs :S
I'd love to drop in but I suspect the other half and wee ones will be far to busy and excited by HOLIDAY to let us. Maybe I can interest them in tales of your sheep, everyone loves sheep ;) Although the dog might be a bit keen...
Nathan.....There are only two sheep here now.
If you get the chance to pop in...Love to meet you. :)
(Don't worry about the dog...he, or she, would probably find talking to our four 'labs' far more fun.)
Cheers - Phil
Cheers Phil :)
We shall see come June, assuming nothing explodes ;)
