Painting strakes on 1:3000...those things are the devil's work, I tell you!
I feel your pain
Did once do gun ports !
They don't make that good a showing in small numbers and close up, but I'm sanguine about the prospects once there are proper fleets, and a few coastal forts etc. Here Orion, Minotaur, and Ajax test the water.
They look pretty good to me FK! Nicely done.
Waiting for some 1/4800 versions myself.

Just arrived. Ooh! They are dinky. :)
Well done Tumbling Dice.
1: 4800? You're a brave man, sir. ;)
Just learnt a new word.... :D
:-bd =D> :-bd
The 1:4,800 Tumbling Dice are dinky, but they paint up really well :)
I had a girlfriend called Dinky once....

Dinky I think I understand, but why "Dinky once'. Oops, perhaps I understand!
Clearly she no longer resembled an 1805 frigate.

Well, doh! Obviously!
Though she was a former very high level tennis champion; must have been as trim as a frigate in her heyday.

Lucky you, even if only once!
It was on the rebound from my divorce. I was any woman's for the taking.
When do we get to see HMS Dinky?

Not until the bases I ordered arrive at the very earliest :)
Possibly not until after I've finished painting some of my chibi ninja.
Currently busy playing games of "Call to Adventure" with any of my friends and family who'll sit down long enough

Those look rather spiffy, Alexander. :-bd
(I had to look up what Strakes were :-[.......Are they difficult, 'cos the masts and sails get in the way, when you're trying to paint them ?)
Cheers - Phil
Painting straight lines is already a challenge to my limited ability; on a hull an inch long, with little gunports in the way - not easy. But thanks for the compliment; I think they WILL look pretty good en masse.
The Red Squadron is based; here we see Victory, Great Percy, Temeraire, Orion, Agamemnon, Africa, Leviathan, Conqueror, Ajax, and Minotaur. Five more squadrons of line to be done, and some frigates too. And the land forces, of course.
More.
Lions led by Dinkies. Which may explain the odd orientation.
Stroke problems? Use artists pens.
Trying every trick I know. But I'm pretty satisfied with the look at gaming distance.
That look more than damn good to me. :)
(Why is there a shuriken on the table ?......Is this what Lee throws at you, on the odd occasions you win ??......I think we should be told. ;))
Cheers - A Twerp.
I think we all know that a wife of even average competence has no need of weapons to control her husband.

As it turned out, unnecessary. But appreciated none the less.
Fort Boyard looks so absurd I'm tempted to get one.
