There is a rumour that this film may be remade. NO I say, it is a classic that a remake could not improve.
Classic cult film - a small(-ish) number of fans who think it's the greatest film ever made vs. the vast majority of people who've a) never seen it or, b) don't see what the fuss is about. See also Rocky Horror Picture Show (and a thousand others).
Myself, not bothered. A crap remake won't take away anything from the original.
I wouldn't bother paying to go and see it if they did!
Depends on whether you think it's a good idea to get involved in a land war in Asia or not

I do not think it means what you think it means.
To remake something might suggest the original wasn't good enough (I disagree in this instance) ... or .. (more likely) somebody, somewhere lacks originality ...
I'll disagree slightly and say it depends on the cast. While the original was damn near perfect and almost as quotable as Monty Python (quite a task), if a remake works... it works.

I think you'd want the Big Show (Paul Wight) instead:

A great story can be told over and over.
Try it with the Game of Thrones cast
My name is Inigo Montoya ... I'd go and see it. :)
