Title: More Cruel Seas Action
Post by: sunjester on 20 July 2019, 10:10:10 PM
Orcs came around the other day and I got the chance to put a couple of my new boats on the table, a pair of Fairmile Bs, one in the minesweeper configuration and the other kitted out as a gunboat with a semi-auto 6 pounder up front.

The scenario was that a small German convoy, escorted by little Kriegfischkutters, is ambushed by a mixed British force of MGBs and MTBs. While the gunboats approach the convoy head on, the Vospers swing around to come in from the seaward, hoping to get a clear shot with their torpedoes. In the meantime a pair of S Boats have been dispatched to aid the convoy to get past the British.

Very cool, thanks for posting that! And you've inspired me to dig out my 1/600 coastal forces and get them in ocean-going shape.

Jack

Sunjester,

So I got home from work, went upstairs, located the envelope, and dumped it out.  Then I pulled the boats out of their plastic packages and assembled them.  I glued them to sticks and took them out to the garage and primed them.  Now I've got to do some research on what the heck colors I'm supposed to paint these things!

I'm doing WWII Pacific, so I've got:
-some sort of merchant ship, much bigger than everything else
-4 x US PT Boats
-1 x US LCM
-2 x 85' "Luggers"
-2 x Japanese T-1 MTBs
-1 x Japanese Type C Gunboat
-2 x Japanese 46' Daihatsu barges
-2 x Japanese Daihatsu gunboats

More to follow.  Keep posting batreps to keep me motivated, please! ;)

V/R,
Jack

Jack, I haven't got anything planned for a few weeks now, but I might fit a game in before that, watch this space!

Now get on with you little ships and post some pictures.  ;) ;D
